GAA 2026

Very proud of that second half from Armagh last night. It would have been easy just to have written it off at half time but that was real character. We are getting a few key men back slowly but surely and definite reasons for optimism.

Great second half showing, that result may have decided things.

Should be a good weekend of ball though, tough away games for yee and us, id be amazed if were not relegated and to be honest i don't really mind a year or so in Div 2, great breeding ground and that's what we need. It was very good to us the last year we were down there. ;)

We have the pleasure of hosting Kerry. That will be a championship paced game. Dublin are unlucky that Galway need something from the game but they are definitely beatable.

Ah at home, apologies.

Wel'l see depends what Dublin turns up, we can beat anyone like first 50 mins the last day then also have a collapse in us.

Still dont think a year in Div 2 will do us any harm.

Division 2 is certainly more forgiving for young players but you will learn more in Division 1. Relegation isnt a disaster though, not like it is in the soccer.

Thought he was harsh on both sides at different times in the game.

He’s always funny with us, hes from Meath, but lives and works in Dublin, hes always a bit Jekyll and hide with us. Kerry turned the screw on him a few years back about us and he# been weird reffing us since.
Bias in plain sight for me. Hates McGeeney but moreso all about him.

Dubs go down to Div 2, no harm - the bones of a team there, but very young, naïve and inexperienced, year in Div 2 will do them no harm.

Feel we’re at the start of a three year cycle.

No complaints really we had numerous opppurtunites in every game but particularly last week and this to put games to bed and didn’t. Really we’re a 60 minute team with these young lads, but they will learn gane management with time and expierence - feel that’s the margin.

But Div 2 is good fun, really enjoyed the last time , you get bored playing the same teams every Spring and sure look the last time we were down there a couple of years ago, we won a sweet Sam, so who knows.

Focus now turns to the Championship, a good year would be regaining Leinster, be no easy feet watching Louth earlier and Meath got promotion earlier….still be a bit of craic and the competition won’t hurt Leinster.

I’m sure many of us grew up watching the great broadcaster Michael Lister who was the face of RTE GAA broadcasting for decades who sadly died today.

A terrific broadcaster and journalist he made the Sunday game, a warm, friendly, fun programme, hugely knowledgable and passionate about both codes and respected by all - even when Brolly, Spillane and O Rourke were kicking off they were always brought to heel by Lister, he knew when to let them off and when to reel them in made fir some great coverage if Gaelic games. Since his retirement The Sunday Game just hasn’t been of the same quality.

He will be sadly missed but always respected by all Gaels.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh Anam.
