GAA 2026

Transition year for us as well. Out of the 30 players who featured last year, 15 are unavailable for selection for tomorrow due to retirement; time out and injuries.

Good year for maybe us both mate is provincial title, though harder done in Munster then Leinster.

Think Tyrone must be due a kick on after all their underage success.

We need someone to compete with Kerry, Donegal looked very handy and fit last night - but a rag ball Dublin team still got within 3 point of them.

Overall was very naive performance by the Dubs last night. To be expected given new manager, new players on show time of the year etc. Bit more savvy and know how and i think we would have got a result.

Was a bit disappointed with the slowness of our transition and counter, we defo have the players to be better at it. Disappointed also with the team work and supporting players in possession. We were trying to implement a man to man defensive system and Donegal copped it and moved our defense all over the place at times. Didnt see much of an improvement at the back, but still early days. Thought also Comerford was very slow on kickouts. We are ridiculous with two pointers - surely in a county of over a million people there is someone.

Positives - we were the better team in the second half in my opinion, of the relative new lads, Nathan Doran at 6 played well, McGinnis had a brilliant second half after a shaky start, Shaw showed glimpses going forward but was caught a bit at the back.

Second half subs Luke Breathneach - who ive said on here will be a super player in the future - came on and scored 5, such a classy lovely footballer - i don't know why he didn't start or why we didn't use him in the Championship last year. Cian O Connor was very good when he came on also. Shout out to Davy Byrne who i thought was excellent.

Need to be getting point on the board in the next few games, that one loss in a home game and pressure can build unless you start winning.

All said though still early days and loads on lads to come back into the panel, we defo need to blood some of these players and a bit of hope for one or two of them.

Great to be back at County level.

The end to the Kerry/Roscommon match unusual. I'd hate to see it send someone out of the championship. Two seconds left a Kerry free 60 yards out. Ball kicked into forward who put it over the bar. I don't know who was the timekeeper or who was in charge of the hooter but the whole free + score took more than two seconds.

Good win in 1b of the hurling for Clare over Dublin. Finally ground them down where a win would almost see the winners promoted barring major slip ups. Not for the first time Tony Kelly the difference
Disappointing loss for the Dubs that, good things expected from them after building nicely last year.

Promotion was certainly a target for this year.
