Well your claim is that right wingers are being silenced. But I see plenty of right wing voices, media, podcasts which are hugely popular and freely available. I can tell from your posts that you digest quite a few of them, cos I’m familiar with the talking points, so they’re not that silenced that you or I can’t get to hear them.

Fair point, tho' one has to look ever more into unfamiliar places. Do you agree Twitter/Facebook/Youtube appear to have a liberal bias when deciding which channels to censure?

You’ve mentioned cancel culture about twenty times. You’re screaming it from the rooftops via the internet.

I don’t really know what the bit in bold means. Social media is a place where you can find an extreme view of anything, anything at all - but most people aren’t at those extremes, and they detract from any serious discussion.

The problem in society is the Fascists on the Left are wolves in sheeps clothing - they push their ideology under the cuddly guise of Political Correctness.

Now thats not me attacking Political Correctness as society does change and we have to be careful what we say in the age of social media however the problem I have is these far left fascists are actively pulling us towards a society where if you laughed at a sexist joke at age 17/18 you better watch out as the blokes in white coats will be knocking at your door 10 years later at the dead of night with your employer suspending you the following morning.

Thats the problem I have with modern society there is no common sense, people are not allowed to make mistakes or to "grow up" anymore everyone has to be perfect from child to teenager to adult in every walk of life - lets be honest most lads at 17/18 are not mentally mature thats the reality so to hammer someone based on what they said or thought 10-15 years ago when they had only just turned old enough to drink a beer is outrageous but thats the society we are living in and its only going to get worse if we dont remain vigilant and call out these fascists when we see them regardless of what your political persuasion may be.

And thats not me saying if some 18 year old posts an offensive tweet that they shouldn't be bollocked as they should be - but dont hold it over them 10-20 years later like some criminal record when they are probably married with kids and look back and cringe at what they said or acted like back then.

Possibly, I can certainly see that it appears that way. But it doesn’t really tell us if that is actually the case, without looking at why people are censored.

If 100 ‘right’ leaning people post some slander about Hilary Clinton sacrificing and eating children, but none on the left do. You might end up with 100 right wingers being banned, but no left wingers. That’s not evidence of bias, it’s evidence of different behaviour.

If you break the YouTube or Twitter Ts and Cs you’re leaving yourself open to being censored. Any left/right bias shown by those companies will be secondary to capitalist motivations - i.e not wanting the share price to be devalued.

Try calling someone a c word on Twitter, if you get reported, you’ll get the ban hammer, irrespective of left / right factors.

I mean, I don’t know where to start with this FB. I think there’s a couple of decent points in there about how our youthful transgressions shouldn’t follow us around forever, but there’s a lot of talk about the fascist left, and ‘common sense’ which is a bit bewildering to me.

As often with these subjects there’s a kernel of truth which is being overstated and overblown, in my opinion.
