So you’re ok with a guy identifying as a woman using the same toilet as your young daughter. Give me a break.

What? They aren't using the same toilet are they. How would that be an issue?

There are loads of gender neutral toilets in Europe and some clubs.

This is such a straw man argument it drives me mad. Why, all of a sudden, does being a trans woman make that person a sexual deviant who goes round assaulting people in toilets? I GUARANTEE that more assaults take place by (cis) men in ladies’ toilets than by trans women.

It’s also curious that this argument is never used in reference to trans men.
I didn’t say it does make them a sexual deviant. I’ve got no problem with anyone wanting to identify as a woman but if they want respect they should respect others rights and views too.
I asked a question, you didn’t answer.

So they can have respect but it’s conditional on your list of demands being met?

In answer to your question, YES, I am unequivocally fine with trans folk using the toilets according to the gender with which they identify.

Let me ask YOU - Would you trot this same line of questioning out to your kids/grandkids/family/friends if any of them told you they wanted to transition?

That wasn’t what I asked.

As in it literally can't happen. You can't pay someone less for the exact same job - it doesn't matter what the job title is, if the job is the same it doesn't matter.

It quite literally doesn't happen. The fact you continue to say it is possible highlights my exact point that people with causes are often wrong.

What do you mean it doesn’t happen? Because it’s against employment law? Are you saying no one breaks the law?

I’m a bit confused by how adamant you are being in this point

Of course some can break the law, even inadvertently. The BBC did with a journo the other month.

The point is its not endemic and not a reason for any gender pay gap. Women aren't paid less than men for the same work. It doesn't happen.

It's not like "people look over black people for executive positions" as that clearly does happen and is effectively legal as it's next to impossible to prove.

Whereas its very easy to prove if McDonald's is paying a woman less than a man for flipping burgers. People talk.

The article doesn't say the font is racist?

It implies it in the headline. And " while another wrote: “Jesus. When I think of typefaces white people should avoid, anything remotely calligraphic/blackletter looking pops immediately to mind, especially if it’s going to include the word ‘White’"

This is todays media... it only takes one or two nut-jobs to make a controversial comment on social media, and the press use that as a headline to suggest it's a widespread belief. Somebody makes a comment on twitter, and The Guardian use that as a basis for an article. This is a national newspaper. Crazy.

Right. Bizarre thing to go to bat on on a technicality. You said it literally can’t happen and now say it can. Not that it wasn’t endemic. Which is up for debate. Even if you thing stridently saying otherwise counts as an argument.

Again, though, the gender pay gap is about whether women earn less than men, which they do. Unless you have different figures?

They don't earn less for the same job. Which if you read my original post was the point I was making.

There's a myriad reasons as to why that is, and not all of them are discriminatory. Indeed, most of them are not.
