Not sure you read the story if you think it's saying the concept of uniforms is racist.
The whole argument is that banning different colour headscarves or hair height is racist due to afros etc.
Which is... well, ludicrous, but whatever, its just the latest in a long line of stupid things people moan about.

Not letting kids have their natural hair is blatantly racist.
Hijab in school colours seems fair enough.
Allowing facial hair for religious reasons seems fair enough too.
I don't see the problem with the flag in isolation, but in terms of all the stupid flagshagging that's going on at the moment I'd happily see less of them., Flying a Union Jack at school was never a thing in my day, wouldn't have seen it at any of the schools wherr I lived. Flags are rubbish.
The same school also took down a Union Jack, burned it and grafittied areas around the school with slogans like "ain't no black in the Union Jack"
Which, amazingly, people supported.
That's helping race relations I'm sure.
The school uniform thing is minor, disputes happen all the time with uniform/appearance policies in school, but yeah it's just the latest in a long line of stupid things.
It isn't. Was a policy for me growing up too, lads couldn't have shoulder length hair, or earrings. Or hair dyed - indeed I got threatened with suspension for that as a kid.
It's an appearance/discipline related measure, it's not intended to be racist. But of course the racism bandwagon was immediately jumped on.

Don't need to, asking for a hair height limitation isn't racist - it's just asking for a hair height limitation. It's a school uniform/appearance policy, as seen in every school across the land in slightly differing ways.
