Fixture List 2019/20

They are distinctly better than 14 others, and in a league of 20 it's not hard to work out what that means.

No they’re not. They are absolutely miles behind Liverpool and City, the true best teams in the league. I think they’re even a level below Spurs. They’re just another part of the chasing pack, we’ll take minimum 4 points from those two at home once again.

I think it's interesting that we have the two week winter break in February, I wonder how many Premier league teams will go and play a few games in the US during the break for some extra cash, particularly those not in European competions. The MLS starts in March so that would be the MLS preseason

I'm not sure I'd use 'high' but agreed it's clearly not one in a million. That said, I don't remember experiencing it often if at all over the previous say 20 years. And given how they do the fixtures, one season has a lot of similarity to the previous one. So I don't think it's purely random that we've ended up with a curious distribution of top 6 matches.
Remember we started the season off 2 years ago with a run of 5 of the first 6 games against the top 6. I don't remember our games bunched up like that either in the past except for the last few seasons.

They were told last year that when the Winter break was going to happen that they would be barred from arranging friendlies to stop them making as much money as pos,as prem league want it to be a proper 2 week break and not have them play games around the world, though they can still go on team bonding stuff in spain or were ever, if it gets stuck to that is.

Anyone know when you can start buying tickets for games ? I will need a non member ticket in November v Chelsea

Imagine a key player getting injured mid season playing a money game, the fume would be unreal, I think they'll all be in Dubai for 10 nights all inclusive

Chelsea is weekend of December 7th. I will be on holiday then so will be putting my season ticket seat in Lower Gwladys Street on Stubhub when they activate the website at the start of the season.

Does anybody apart from me think there aren't going to be many easy fixtures next season.? We lost the 3 really poor teams from the league last season. Villa will bring in crowds of 40k+ each match and are still a big enough name to attract some decent players. And Norwich have a decent young team and I think could do OK. Only Sheffield United have a question mark over them.

Of the other teams, Wolves, Watford, West Ham, Leicester, Palace, Southampton, Newcastle, Bournemouth and Burnley are all very capable. Brighton I think will struggle and are my early favourites to go down with Sheffield and A N Other.

I expect City and the RS to stand out again next season, but I wouldn't be surprised if we, along with teams like Wolves, Leicester, Watford are West Ham all close the gap on the rest of the top 6.

Compared to a couple of years ago when we finished 8th under Fat Sam, I think the quality of the premier is much improved. I put that down to young European managers coming in and the likes of managers like Allardyce, Hughes, Moyes, Pardew and Pulis being punted out.

I agree with you, I think the league is looking stronger this season at least on paper. Hopefully we can have a strong mid table (us, Wolves, Leicester, Watford, West Ham etc.) who are capable of taking points off top teams and a bottom half with sides who are strong at home for the same reason.

Watching Huddersfield or Cardiff up against City or Liverpool was ridiculous, they shouldn’t be in the same league.

If United and Chelsea are weaker this season and us and other teams push them it could be a very exciting scrap outside of the top 2.
