Fernandes

If that is the case, I have no doubt Moyes will rid him of that trait in an instant.

Moyes has worked hard to put together a team of hard working players who play for the shirt and play for each other before they play for themselves. He won't let one bad apple upset the cart.

If Fernandes has an attitude problem or comes across as a prima donna, Moyes will either fix it or just play his loan out and then send him packing. That is if the players don't "fix" it first. :o

Yep, I seem to recall Arteta being a bit Prima donnaish when he first landed to Moyes soon straighten him out...I guess Fernandes is another chapter in the "let's wait and see what happens..." book.

Ah yes, the excuses start to fly for others but no, Fernandes is just plain poor. Halewood was in error there. Proper service? He's a f*(king midfielder. What's next?

All makes sense now.

Not really but then who's counting?

He doesnt play in a midfield role, perhaps you havent noticed but Cahill normally plays the 2nd striker role, a role he is given because given the 'Proper Service' he will get you goals.
So when did you need to be fully fit to pass 5 yds to a team mate? No-one is expecting his 'A' game yet but to not even be able to pass to a team mate is just stupid.
Why isnt he match fit bill? The answer is Valencia wouldnt play him, i wonder why this was?

I clearly understand where Cahill plays on the pitch. But the fact remains that whether he's in the midfield or just in front of it, he's needs to be doing more than he is, service or not.

I'm not kidding you. I didn't even know Cahill was on the pitch against Reading (I had missed the team sheets) until the announcer said something about him in minute 20. Sure some of that can be put down to his teammates not finding him on the pitch. But not all of it.

Manny got spot playing time at Valencia until Koeman came in. It's well known what's gone on between them and that the writing was on the wall for Manny at that point once Koeman took over.

I'm hoping that they'll want to cut him loose for a bargain basement price but who knows what will happen in the summer.

He only started 5 games for Valencia and 4 of them starts came under Koeman's management so that blows your theory out of the water billy. He actually started in Koeman's 1st 3 games then was dropped, again i will ask for someone who is supposed to be so talented why is that?
A fee has been agreed so i dont know where your getting this bargain price from

...well then I'm eagerly awaiting your posts explaining why Cahill and Osman as of late have been non-contributors to the cause. Fact is, it's clear you have an axe to grind with Fernandes. Why? Don't know. Perhaps you were a bit upset at what happened last summer as most of us were. I've gotten over it. Wish you would too.

*TX Bill not holding breath.

I am astonished TX or are you saying neither Ossie or Tim have proven track records. If you want to discuss them and their present form start threads, this one is about Fernandes if you hadn't noticed. I have a axe to grind with people who are placing this guy on a pedestal he does not deserve, please point out at what point he has lived up to his hype mate, he hasn't simple fact. You have a habit of ignoring the glaring possibility that Valencia may have found him out, if he was playing like he has for us up to now it explains a great deal in my opinion. Please explain why the boss picked on him on Saturday, remember Tim flew round the world, Tim's brother has just been put away for 7 years but Moyes said Manny you are off because he was playing like a man in a trance. You are right in saying whats good for the goose is good for the gander but at present fernandes is an ugly duck.

As for last summer sorry TX, bump the threads mate, what I have said here applied then, its called consistency he is lazy

weird because our best two early chances of the first half were cahill shots. ther ewere times when cahill would be supporting an attack play onlyto 30 seconds later be heading the ball out of our own box in defence. the guy works like a dog.

Hello all i'm new to this forum, only just joined. I think the problem with manny at the moment is the only regular footy he's played this season is since he re-joined. Very rarely played for valencia

I've noticed a lot of comparisons between Manny, Cahill and Osman from Saturday, and yes they were ALL crap, but the only other Everton player Manny should really be compared to currently is P-Lar.

Cahill and Osman are more likely to be "allowed" to have a bad game, as we have seen them perform time and again (especially Cahill) so the odd bad match is to be expected, as we know they'll perk up again (even Arteta hasn't been on form recently), whereas with P-Lar and Manny, both are on loan and should be trying to prove their worth to the team so they get signed.

There is a difference between these two players. P-Lar has "tried" almost every minute of every game. I remember him in a game a bit ago now, trying to thread the eye of a needle all game - he barely made a pass count, but he persevered, chased the ball, worried the opposition, won it now and again, but really did very little. The thing is, generally even when he plays bad, he chases and harries and makes life difficult for his opposite number. He plays like a man who is chasing a contract.

Manny on saturday just didn't run, didn't chase, didn't do anything other than stand around, waiting for the ball so he could offload it, or get tackled, and then continue standing in or near the centre circle.

For me, that is the difference that makes me think badly of Manny after Saturday - Yes he needs time to settle, Yes he has hardly played all season til he came to us, but on saturday, he was making up the numbers imo, with too little effort to get himself involved in the game.

If, next game, he runs his heart out trying to regain lost balls, even if he can't pass to one of us lot, he will go back up in my opinion.

Spot on dude, very well put arguement. (y)

You've just summed up how I feel about him aswell.

Yer hasnt reproduced the form of last season, shits out of tackles alot.

Still a class act.

thats the one thing that annoys me the most, last season after a while of learning he just threw his body in the way and made them commit a foul on him, this season he seems to push them a little and then think he cant get it and leaves them be, he also cant head a ball.

Very poor tonght both in posession retention and defending i hate to use the word lazy but at times its hard to think of a more constructive word to use!

Come on Manny we know you have it in you!

I thought he was alright tonight - he didn't have a good game but I saw him trying a hell of a lot more than on Saturday. To be fair to him, Brann just sat in two lines of four, very difficult to play our type of football. And it was a cracking shot.

I'm still undecided, but it was a step in the right direction.
