on that arsenal one - 2.48 great feet, and great pass by carsley to johnson near the beggining!!

Agreed. The pass from Carsley was very suprising and very classy. Fernandes also made some levely passes. A great midfield partnership on the day. They had a great battle with Fabregas and Diaby.

Whos saying Artetas crap? Were talkiing about if fernandes is good or not

And sorry if they are the only videos i could find :) I would usually get out my projector and go through every single little tihng fernandes does but i didnt really have time...:P

There was a brief argument about Arteta and Fernandes I wasn't going to reply to this thread until I read it so it's in here somewhere.

To be honest the reason why I said it'd be nice to see some different clips of fernandes for once is because whenever this argument crops up you can almost predict what order the clips are going to pop up in. I feel like I've watched those Portsmouth, United and Arsenal clips to death, That's all...I was just saying it would've been nice to see something he'd done recently.

I don't think anyone's saying Fernandes is better than Arteta. I'm certainly not I'm just disigreeing with the fact that HalewoodBlue thinks he controls games when he quite clearly doesn't. Arteta's one of my favoirte players and one of our best players.

Fernandes in my opinion is as good as Arteta and certainly has the potential to be alot better than him. He's never been given the enough games to prove this though so we can't judge.

Oh in that case I'll agree with you,

Fernandes is good....but not as good as Arteta....Yet.

I know i was only joking...

..but one thing we can agree on (i think) that with Arteta and Fernandes in the midfield, our play would bee much improved, with skill, and passing.

Also fernandes brings the long shot in aswell, not many of our players shoot long, and the one that does has left!!

Its quite hard mate. I can only get what is one Youtube. If you get me a video of the full games I'll pick out moments of quality. The pass against Spurs, the pass against Arsenal, the pass against Derby, the many powerful shots he produced in the final games and the assists he created.

There are many moments I could pull out if I had the resources.

Just to be clear I want Manny to partner Arteta NOT replace him Arteta has carried us on numerous occasions over the last few seasons and could not believe it when people(wont call them fans) got on his back.(y)

I honestly think that if we give Manny a proper pre season, he will be the best player we have next season. I'd hate to see him end up at Newcastle or Man City and seeing what we missed out on. :(

I`d also like to see Manny have another season with us, as above lets see what hes like after a pre season under DM, fnarr!!!.Imo taking on some English players traits will help Manny no end, and hopefully Evertonif he stayed beyond another season.Loan deal yes.

You obviously watch a totally different everton mate, 1st you say when Arteta is on form he doesnt control our games which is clearly not the case. 99% of anything good goes through Arteta and he has totally controlled the pace of a game on many an occasion.
2nd Manny on a par with Arteta, based on what exactly?
3rd He has a very poor attitude from last summer to him crying off after 10 mins against citeh when someone dared challenge him

I don't watch a different Everton to you I'm just realistic. I know for a fact that none of our midfielders control games because we play hoofball. There's only so much they can see of it. Arteta is very capable of controling a game as is Manny in my opinion but they have to be given the ball to feet to have any chance.

Alot of our chances do come from Arteta but over 90 minutes he doesn't dictate games. He gives you nice plays over 90 minutes but he isn't doing it continually and getting on the ball all the time because of the hoofing. Fabregas controls games for Arsenal, Scholes controls games for Man utd but Arteta doesn't not control games for us and neither do any of our midfielders. Its pretty clear in the fact that we never dominate possession. If we did we'd have someone like Arteta dictating the game.

I base my opinion on watching them both. This season has obvioulsy been hard for both of them. Both have had problems with fitness and niggling injuries. On the 10 games they played together last season they looked at each others level. Two quality footballers giving us another dimension. I feel they are on each others level but they've never been give us a long season together to make it clear who is actually better.

Fernandes definatly has more potential. He has more to his game and if he devlops those attributes will be a step above Arteta. Technically they are very similar, they both have silky skills but Fernandes edges it in physical abilities and passing. He's also 4 years younger and has alot more time on his side. But saying all this though there different. Arteta is a better winger whereas Manny is a better centre midfielder.

Your comments on his attitude are opinion and that is all. No one knows what happened in the summer so I'm not going to comment on it and the fact that you never give the facts proves you don't know anything. He was blatently injured against City. If got taken from the side, tried to run if off and couldn't. Nothing wrong with that. If he'd have stayed on the pitch he could have cost us a goal. He was also our for 3 weeks after the injury.

Please dont tell me people are comparing Fernandes to Arteta?

Fernandes isn't a patch on Arteta when he's on form.

Sure, Fernandes shows moments of good skill, but consistency wise he's poor. His 'ability' to give the ball away to me, makes Arteta by far the better player.
