Fernandes Snag!

Stop it on 75:35. He has a chance there to either go down the wing and create something or draw the defender and pass to Anichebe. He does neither of these instead choosing to backtrack back into our own half
There is no way Arteta wouldnt have gone forward and tried to do something

At 75:35 Fernandes has a defender infront of him as does Anichebe. There's no way he's getting a pass to him. Its easy saying it from a armchair. Its alot harder when your actually on the pitch.

Arteta would have ran with the ball but thats his style. He's a dribbler and he likes to move with the ball and run at people, Fernandes doesn't. Fernandes is a player that gets hold of the ball and looks for the pass. Different style of players do different things.

That isn't flattering to decieve mate. Thats called keeping the ball under pressure and being composed. Thats a fact. It was a nice skill and he didn't lose it.

Save your breath.

He gave up any appearance of having an unbiased view of Manny after admitting what he did in post 11.

Totally disagree, he could have quite easily go down the line and drawn the defender in. Instead he went back to where he started.

If he'd have run down the line he more than likely would have been crowded out by the defender and midfielder around him. He obviously thought that, showed some quality and silky skills and kept the ball moving.

Thats not flattering to decieve mate its taking a different option and excuting a perfect pass. You can't have a go at him for keeping the ball in a tight and crowded area after he'd won the ball back. Nothing wrong with it.

Please give me another example of him flattering to decieve. I'd love to know. I'm going to give you a chance before I completely write your comment off as biased against a player you don't like.

Were never going to agree, for me he could have quite easily gone down the line and created something....he didnt.
He flatters to decieve most games, he never controls a game. Tell me about all the great things he has done then, give me examples of him showing his true class.

Sorry mate but we must be watching different players or in going to games for fifty years I cant spot a player.I think your resentment from the signing fiasco is clouding your judgement.

No dont think so mate.

Give me examples of the lads greatness, am not asking for much here.
Its irrevelant anyway as he wont be joining

Last season when he was fully fit everyone could see his quality. You yourself on NSNO.co.uk said after a few games that we should sign the kid. I remember you saying that yourself.

I have yet to see any Everton midfielder control a game. Never mind a player who hasn't played alot, has had injury problems and isn't fit. As I've said if we stop hoofing the midfield might get a chance to control a game.

I've seen plenty of things that show his class. His general passing. The way he can fizz passes in from deep is brilliant. No one else has the vision or passing range to do that.

The fact that he can play a killer ball. The one against Spurs in the 0-0 draw, the one against Arsenal this season, the one against Derby for Ossie's goal and about three against Arsenal last season. Again no one can pick a pass in behind defenses in our team. His skill and upper body strenght are also very useful tools. The video's show all of this.

He's not perfect but he's very talented and he rarely flatters to decieve. He doesn't get to the edge of the box like Arteta and piss about with it. He sees the pass and makes it, he has end product and he is creative.

This ones pretty decent. Shows alot of his game and the quality he as. Its also against a big team.

It's funny for someone supposedly world class the only things we have to show for it are some skill against arsenal and Portsmouth and a wonder goal against Man Utd.

I'm in the camp that wants Fernandes here because he can be quality with the right amount of coaching. But I don't believe he's a better player then Arteta definitely not. One bad season and everyone thinks Arteta is crap.

Infact Arteta's game against Spurs this season was better then any game by Fernandes this season.

on that arsenal one - 2.48 great feet, and great pass by carsley to johnson near the beggining!!

I don't think anyone's saying Fernandes is better than Arteta. I'm certainly not I'm just disigreeing with the fact that HalewoodBlue thinks he controls games when he quite clearly doesn't. Arteta's one of my favoirte players and one of our best players.

Fernandes in my opinion is as good as Arteta and certainly has the potential to be alot better than him. He's never been given the enough games to prove this though so we can't judge.
