lool these rumors are too funny. No way would Wenger spend 24 million on Fellaini, hell I doubt he would spend that on Mata if he was available. O love Wenger, but he's not a big spender. Our transfer record is around 15 million.....doubt he's gonna go 24 million on Fellaini who plays in a position we dont have big needs. We desperately need a world class striker and proper partner for Koscielny

He'd be better off staying with us than going there. Arsenal are slowly on the slide and they won't do well until Wenger goes.

They´re not at all though. They have young, improving squad, are in the Champions league and above all have a state of the art new stadium all ready payed for.

If we say Arsenal are on the slide, what do you think they´re saying about us?

He hasnt done it really though yes up until decemeber he was great but when he got the stoke ban the goals dried up and we didnt miss him when he was out . Hes done nothing the last half of the season . I would like to keep our best players but in our finacial state we need the money which bk cant provide . Fer or capoue could do the job at a lower price then we would still have some left for a striker . If arsenal chelsea and united are intrested then i would expect his price to rise

all I hear about our players to replace him who play in roughly the same position, nowhere near his ability, and try suggesting to one of them they will be expected to become a centre forward if necessary. I honestly think people are being blinded by money here. we may be close to having one of the better midfields in Europe if we keep them together, play them there all the time and give them the time to play together, it looks a lot weaker without Fellaini and instead we have someone we have no idea will fit or come anywhere near his quality. am gonna give up on this soon cos am losing all my optimism about the season. Martinez will have a good look at Fellaini and in my opinion tell him he is crucial to his plans, Fellaini has said he is happy which usually ends this stuff unless the team force someone out

compare them to 6/7 years ago and you have to admit they're on the slide. there really isn't that much between us and them at the moment, probably only wenger i would say

I want felli to stay would honestly only consider selling if someone offered £30 mil+, but I think he will go personally so thats why I say i could live with martinez having £24 mil+ £10 mil whatever kenwright gives to rebuild the squad, for £24 mil I would rather he stayed but I think the top clubs will be having a word in his ear this summer

and a half dozen dodgy penalty decisions

You are forgetting what we have been through the last 6-7 years. Building a new stadium and to do so the club signed several long term commercial deals in order to get money early. Most of those deals expired this season or will expire next. Money wise Arsenal from now on will be a serious club. Ability wise the two clubs right now are close, but we have the potential to spend alot more and build a top team.

The difference between us and Arsenal on the pitch is they get about 200 penalties and dodgy decisions goimg their way each season! Cant stand their fans or that club, almost as bad as Liverpool.

Everton are to offer a contract extension to Leighton Baines and have not given up hope of Marouane Fellaini staying at Goodison Park as the new manager, Roberto Martínez, attempts to keep David Moyes's squad intact.

Martínez immediately began work on plans for next season following his unveiling as Moyes's successor on Wednesday, discussing transfer targets with the chief executive, Robert Elstone, that night and returning to the club's Finch Farm training complex at 8am on Thursday. The Everton manager intends to phone all of his first-team squad before pre-season training starts next month and intends to strengthen a team that finished sixth in the Premier League last season, not see it weakened by the potential departures of Fellaini and Baines.

Both Everton's prized assets are potential targets for Moyes at Manchester United while Chelsea are among those linked with a move for Fellaini, who has a £24m release clause in his contract. While powerless to prevent the Belgium international joining a club that activates the clause, Everton's chairman, Bill Kenwright, insists the midfielder's exit is not a foregone conclusion. A nd he revealed Everton will underline their commitment to retain Baines by offering the England international an extension to a contract that has two years left to run.

"Leighton is under contract and I've told David not to come back for him, although there is nothing to stop him," said Kenwright. "Most of our players, if not all of them, are under good, long contracts at the moment Leighton about a new contract but that will start. He knows we want him to stay.

"Marouane has given every indication he doesn't want to go. I think people were looking to see what was going to happen with the manager – the players have all been asking me – and Roberto's appointment is a decisive moment for a lot of people. Roberto is looking forward to getting all the players together and keeping hold of them. He rates them all."

Martínez's initial brief also involves talks with David Weir, Alan Stubbs and Phil Neville about remaining part of the back-room team at Everton. The three former Everton players lost out to the 39-year-old in the interview process for Moyes's job but Martínez hopes to add them to a coaching team including his Wigan staff of Graeme Jones, Kevin Reeves, the goalkeeping coach Iñaki Bergara and the conditioning coach Richard Evans. Neville, however, has offers to coach and continue playing elsewhere when his Everton contract expires at the end of the month.

"I need to speak to everyone at Everton," said Martínez. "There are a few positions I need to decide. I would love to have Evertonians on the management team, it's very important. They need to set the values of the club. I will be speaking to everyone here and obviously Alan and David are part of that. Phil is a little bit different now he's away [with England's Under-21s] but I will be speaking to him to see how he feels. It's a big moment in your career when you consider retiring and going into management or coaching."

Kenwright would like an Evertonian presence on the coaching staff but admitted that is not an obligation for Martínez. The Everton chairman said: "I don't think I can insist. He has never resisted, you see. I have said that I would like it, yes, but he was as much into that as I was from the first meeting."

but they tend to operate by unsettling a player through the media and have been already doing this for a couple of years, and yet he has made a point of saying he is happy at the club, so either none of the interest is serious or he knows there is interest and has come out and said he wants to stay. Martinez has said he wants to keep everyone. he won't sulk, he won't ask for a transfer. all the indications are that he thinks it is not the right time to be leaving

Sky Sports;

We have cut the odds on Arsenal signing Marouane Fellaini from 16/1 to 6/4 following a run of bets in our Transfer Specials.

up to 2 years ago they were genuinely considered for the title. Now they're in a race for fourth with Spurs. The quality and depth in the squad gets worse each year to the point where they now don't have a single world class player in the squad.

They were highly fortunate at times this season too. Off the pitch they're a great club.

Ive been saying on here for ages mate I want a manager/someone in the club to come out and give the media a dressing down like fergie and redknapp have done in the past, but the club is full of small time **** bags and in ken****e's case he's made up as it looks like we are spending money whenever someone is sold
