If the club's top asset (not top player) wants to stay on for another season and sign a contract with a higher release clause, you do it. Especially if the difference in the release clause and what you'd get now is higher than the difference in wage. Think with your heads.
 

whatever is going on, think what has been said and what people are reporting as having been done or said are getting so confused that my worry is he is going to end up as totally unpopular at the club without really doing much more wrong than any other player. seems to me that if he stays then at the moment he is willing to give 100 per cent and play where he is asked to. I would rather that than a player who knows how to charm the fans and media and does sh*t all on the pitch

Well said mate, some utter nonsense on here written about him, how many other star players would play out of position all season without complaint, if we sell him to fill other areas and end up with Osman at CM for another season we will get nowhere, next season should be planned around him and Gibson at the centre, we wont get someone as good as Felli in, and signing four bit part players doesn't interest me either. Oh and theres a reason Jagielka isn't on the same wage, and doesn't attract as much transfer speculation, he isn't as good as Fellaini

yep, that's the bottom line for me..am excited about a midfield with Gibson, Fellaini and Mirallas in, anything else is just something that i will have to put up with and see what happens
 

I hope we sell him ASAP. If we receive about 22million for him, then we should use that to buy Negredo for 18-20million. Rightly or wrongly, Fellaini was deployed as a striker last season and scored 12 goals in 36 appearances. Take that away from our attack (through selling him or re-positioning him) and we will have absolutely feck all in attack.

Negredo scored 31 goals in 41 appearances last season, which is absolutely phenomenal, and having him upfront would be a massive upgrade from Fellaini.

Central Midfield also needs strengthening. I don't think it is outlandish to suggest we may have access to around 10million without sales this Summer, that and anything remaining from the Fellaini sale and funds derived from the sale of other players should allow us to sign a good midfielder in the 10-15 million bracket.

Swapping Fellaini for Negredo would be a brilliant deal, and would see us add a lot more goals to our attack.
