Fellaini

based on his performance today, I don't disagree that he was off the pace etc and I'm not suggesting otherwise , my point is that he's being written off by some people as a waste of space on the basis of just some of his performances when he's clearly got an injury problem.

As a centre midfielder I'd agree with them, he is a waste of space. It's got nothing to do with injuries, he's never convinced me in that position. It doesn't matter whether he's injured or not, he doesn't tackle and he's continually bypassed.

As a second striker maybe he does have a future, I do like him in that position and he'll always be useful. As a central midfielder which is what I'm talking about, no chance. Injury or not, I don't see it.

Tb, the position you see him in is cahills position and he isn't a patch on cahill. So what do we do with him for the next 3-4 years?

I can't say mate, I really can't. He's good in that position but as you've said Cahill is better in most areas.

Unless Cahill gets another injury I wouldn't want to see Fellaini in the first team, I must admit.

He's boss, but he's one of the most unusual footballers I've ever seen. He still has time to improve on his weaknesses but as he is now he is only effective in a very particular position in a team playing a very particular system. Now that we have options up front I expect Fellaini to struggle a little in a deeper position for the rest of the season, like he did today barring a couple of nice moments.

I don't think we know him well enough yet to judge whether he's the type of individual who can make the necessary improvements to be a success. We'll just have to support him in the meantime.

fickle f8ckers, 2 weeks ago he was the dogs bollocks now hes worse than claus thompson?!

Hes a player, make no mistake. He can play that central midfield role and will prove his worth.

everybody on this site wants him to become a great player?
we can only discuss what we see at the moment, unfortunatly we can't see into the future.
and at the moment he is a weak link when he playes.

i reckon he`s one of those players who feels if hes not 100% fit he has a bit of a titty on and gets frustrated and it shows in his game.plus foriegn johnnies do need a long time to settle.

All the people saying he's useless compared to Cahill should watch that video. He said he's not an attacker. So really, he hasn't had much of a chance to shine in his proper position.

Well he's looked far better as a second striker than a midfielder. He can be very effective behind the striker, I like him there because he can impact the game from that position and play to his strengths.

From what I've seen of him in his "natural position" he's a nothing player.

my 2 pennies.

im not gonna comment on wether he is worth 15 million or if he is a good player becouse he is still very young and has a hell of a lot to learn but i will comment on his performance yesterday.

i thought he was awful . his passing was average , his tracking back was slow and ploddy , his tackling was erratic and he looked a borderline headless chicken.injuries or not he played rubbish.

i thought jo looked a steaming pile aswell.

both players need to raise there game to deserve a starting place imo.
