Fellaini wants to leave Everton?

I think that is highly debatable and isn't obvious at all.

If he was so unbelievably immense (like some would have you believe) then there would have been a plethora of clubs trying to sign him at the time of his last contract extension, but not a single bid came in for him, and it would have been at a time in which Everton would have been forced to accept a very low bid for him, about 10-15million.

He is good in his attacking midfield role, he is far less effective in defensive midfield and even as an orthodox central midfield role.

He is a coveted individual at this moment in time, but he isn't the Zinidine Zidane that some of you make him out to be.

He's the most difficult to replace. That's if he is even replaceable. On his day, even the best can't handle him. He's criminally under-rated by many which has probably made keeping hold of him a little easier for us.

You really won't give this up, will you?

One great ACM performance against Man U doesn't make that his better role. His previous stormers all came in deeper roles, chiefly the one against Man City which I think was his best performance. He dominated their players and turned possession over to us -- that's what I think he's best at. Not an orthodox, deep-lying DM, no. But a ball winner in the centre and perhaps a box-to-box guy, which is a term I hate admittedly but it suits Fellaini's myriad of skills.

I can't be arsed getting the stats but when you argued this point last someone copied the thing off an EB report which showed he was a cut above all the other highly rated defensive midfielders. He is great in that role. He doesn't have the shooting ability or vision to be a top class ACM.

You mean the stats that showed that he was dispossessed more than any other player on the chart? The one which showed he gave far more fouls away? The one that doesn't cater for his inability to track runners? That one?

It's you guys who refer to one or two games in which he had stormers in that position, but conveniently forget all the occasions that he has been poor in that position. His poor games outnumber his stormers in that position.

I was making this argument long, long before his appearance against Man United. He has been playing in the ACM position for some time, and it's clear that Moyes see's him as being most effective up there as well.

If he was so great in CM, losing Gibson wouldn't be such an issue, and we wouldn't be desperate to sign a new CM.

Lets see how wonderful he is when Moyes drops him deeper due to Gibson's injury. Surely, if he is that great, Gibson's loss will be negligible.

let him go in jan for 40 million **** him dont want him
let him go if yer dont want to play for us
we get over it we always do

Good one mate.

Giving away fouls isn't so much a bad thing though, as it's a by-product of his pressing. As for being dispossessed I'm not sure as I don't have the stats. If anyone can unearth them that would be great. All I can recall is him having the best percentages in numerous key areas.

As for tracking runners that is subjective and an opinion you have that is cast iron. You won't change it -- I don't agree with it. I don't think he's immense at it but you definitely exaggerate the problem.

And no his poor games in that position don't outweigh the good ones. That would mean most of his games for us since his first season have been poor games, which is a flat out lie. It's actually a laughable assertion.

Moyes isn't really an expert on players' best positions as Coleman isn't a right mid, Lescott was a LB for ages, Cahill has been used as a striker often willingly, Osman has spent his entire career in every position but his best one... etc. Moyes has used Fellaini mostly in the deeper role as well, so the fact that he's using him further up 3 games into this season doesn't exactly mean Moyes believes that's his best position -- you're making a massive leap there. Personally I think it he played him there to exploit a weak United defence and a weak Villa defence -- which he did. He was pretty crap against a well-organised West Brom defence though. It was possibly his most ineffective performance since he became a key player for us.

And Gibson isn't the same type of player. Although I would personally put Fellaini in there alongside maybe Osman, that's irrelevant as the worry from the fans hasn't been because of what options Moyes now has, but the choices Moyes will now make. I'm fearful because it pretty much guarantees Neville's spot in CM, and I don't like Neville as a midfielder in 2012. He really is a completely different player to Gibson though, and your last few sentences are confusing because of that. Do you not see that Fellaini in a deeper role plays a completely different role than Gibson?

The only way I see him going in January is if he's kept scoring goals and we're in the top 3 or 4. That way perhaps there is a chance we can double our money on him.

Fact is we have him on a long-term contract, so we shouldn't be worrying ourselves too much.

If true the likes of utd, city, chelsea, madrid, psg, zenit and barca would be out bidding each other for him,if he keeps up the first 2 games of the season form. He looked frustrated against west brom.Maybe some one put in a sneaky bid on deadline day and unsettled him,who knows. We should be able to get 40m for him even more in a bidding war.Look what moyes did this summer with the monies he had, just imagine what he could do with 40m plus.If worst happens and he goes then we have to look at the future and start the rebuild process.Obviously the banks will knock but moyes should get all the monies to start the rebuild then the dead wood players monies could go to pay the banks. This is pure speculation at minute though.Everyone knows what newspspers are like when players are on international duty.
