Fellaini wants to leave Everton?

Problem is these things snowball. The Daily mail and other papers are reporting it already, all likely re-quotes and random facts about his everton career to make it a massive story from @Agent247 and all the profits for hits websites.

I bet he has said it to be honest. Football is becoming a great sport for the fan who supports no-one, and a terrible sport for those fans that love their club.
Yeah but I feel like this is a massively random time to say this. We've just signed his friend mirrilas, obviously on the up and have started the season well. Doesn't click to me..

If we don't make Europe this year he will be off... And by that I would think your prob looking CL.

It's always gonna be a case of when not if with Fellaini.
On a plus point I'd expect mega money and if moyes gets that to reinvest I'm sure we'd see another 2 or 3 quality additions. No doubt he'd be a loss but it may be our only way of making another step forward.

I think we have to face facts and unless we hit Europe he will end up going at some point. We have to make sure it's the best deal we can get and then re-strengthen again.

i agree. He isn't staying unless we are in CL...which is fair enough. He is good enough to become one of the worlds best. Hopefully we will do well this season and he will either stay one more season or we will get 40m for him

Well, this is a bit annoying. I very much doubt he has said this but if he has, I don't blame him at all. Rather, I thank him for 5 years of boss service, for signing the new contract, thus enabling us to get a good fee for him and also, I think it's good that he's been honest. Rather that than months of speculation and twitter quotes from utter tits.

Again, I'd rather a player be honest and transparent. Gives us time to line up replacements and means the fans know what's happening. It's no secret that he could be winning huge things elsewhere and it's not like he's a born and bred blue, is it?

In the vastly more likely case that this has been incorrectly quoted or taken entirely out of context: football journos are (mostly) tits.

Agree. Just seems a very odd time to say something like this, maybe it was in response to prodding from the journo, but a good start, his mate signing, playing well, why rock a confident Everton boat now??? Or just maybe because he's flavour of the month the press are pushing for a move to a 'big' club. Just like they did with Rooney after his early England performances.

Hypothetical question:
- If he continues to play like this, and we would have to sell him in January, what kind of sums would we be talking about

Obviously Fellaini is our best player and as a club, we must do our utmost to keep him. However if we did sell him, given his performances in recent seasons, performances this season and versatility, I would not want him sold for any less than 30+ Million. Does anybody realise how much that money would aid our squad? Fellaini could be replaced, for instance by Vadis if we re-signed him, and that would leave 24+ Million to improve and strengthen our squad. The improvements that would make around the park would be phenomenal. I'm not saying it's something we should aim for, but if the lad wants to leave then we should let him.

Don't think he really said it like that, but wouldn't at all be surprised if he's off after this season and who can blame him? Just hope that if he does go, we hold out for the best deal possible.

He'd better not go in January, it'd knock us massively. Also, from moyes' previous comments about January being a difficult time to buy players due to inflated fees, we might not strengthen and have to wait til the summer to see the rewards, so if it has to happen summer has to be the time!

Well if he's going to leave I hope he gets better every week. There's always a club that will pay massively inflated prices, and for a player like Felli, I actually think we can get 35+ that would be groundbreaking for the club on so many levels.

He is a good player, but there is no way that I am cacking myself at the prospect of him leaving.

And I'm afraid figures of over 30million are just dreamland IMO, well, unless you are dealing with a club that has gone totally bonkers, like Liverpool last year. I don't even think the likes of City would surpass the 25 million mark for him.

Looks like a bullshit article anyway.

Obviously Fellaini is our best player.

I think that is highly debatable and isn't obvious at all.

If he was so unbelievably immense (like some would have you believe) then there would have been a plethora of clubs trying to sign him at the time of his last contract extension, but not a single bid came in for him, and it would have been at a time in which Everton would have been forced to accept a very low bid for him, about 10-15million.

He is good in his attacking midfield role, he is far less effective in defensive midfield and even as an orthodox central midfield role.

He is a coveted individual at this moment in time, but he isn't the Zinidine Zidane that some of you make him out to be.

Heard somewhere that in his new contract there was a buy-out clause of £26m?

We'd get at least that, I'm sure. I guess how much depends on how many clubs are interested in paying that much/more. Hypothetically speaking, obviously.
