"There are none so blind as those who refuse to see"

I would have liked a better summer window, and the stadium to be further along, but if you can't see a tangible difference between the Moshiri regime and the previous one, you're just not looking.
D'you know what mate, I can remember when Johnson was turfed out and BK had the same extended honeymoon period when stability was on the pitch and we had a KD stadium in play.

That's what puts me on my guard. I dont care about promises and 'feelgood' I care about and give credit only to deeds and promises kept.

I'd suggest everyone else do the same, because we've been here before and it went arse up.

I think that's a perfectly good, cautious approach, which I echo. But BK did make improvements and progress after Johnson went, however, sadly he couldn't continue that progress and we stagnated.

We've had another change, and the signs of progress are there for all to see (which was my point of disagreement with you).

Feels to me like the right moves are being made in the right way, however, this progress absolutely needs to continue and not stagnate.

If I were to bet on it I think this time will be different. But I dont trust these people. And why should I/we?

Good progress thus far, a very frustrating summer transfer window made up for with the new stadium and our current form.
Biggest test will be this summer though - we need to recruit top players and keep our best if we want to challenge for anything more than europa

We wouldn't of got Koeman if he wasn't here.

We would still be tied to huge interest charges on the debt if he weren't here.

Goodison would still look a state if he weren't here.

We wouldn't have a deal to purchase the land if he weren't here.

We wouldn't have got the £150m USM money if he weren't here.

We wouldn't have spent 35 million in January if he weren't here.

We wouldn't be in a position to get the funding for a new stadium if he weren't here.

He has however been here and ratified for about a year now. And you (amongst others) have never given him a chance, so I'd suggest we are at the stage where you're just trying to save face. As you were....

I'm not anti-Mosh or Koeman or nothing but I do have a nagging feeling that there is much ado about nothing much so far. I had no expectations of huge spending or cast-iron stadium deals within a year but I don't see reason to be as wildly optimistic about the club as many are right now. It interests me how the fans of other clubs felt in the early time of a new owners reign and if they could have predicted the bad/average times to come.

Do we know for certain, taking the positive hat off, that this owner is foolproof against the bad decisions that blighted other clubs that supposedly came into money? I don't see that it's certain we will never see the same level of disappointment with the new investor and stadium that we have grown used to seeing in all things Everton for almost 25 years.

I feel like things have changed. For sure, but I'm not getting carried away by that. I'm enjoying us winning and Ross performing well more than anything else but am still not sure of everything else going on.

In reference to your particular points I think part of the issue is we started from a false position in 11th place, due to the performance of the ex-boss and some current/former players, and as such a lot of things are being seen as way more positive than they would be had they happened to an Everton that had finished in it's usual best of the rest position.

I don't particularly see Koeman as a massive coup for the club personally speaking and not such an amazing feather in the cap of Moshiri. He is doing well and may exceed my expectations but I don't think his appointment is something to sing from the rooftops.

I don't know that sprucing up Goodison was high up most fans to-do lists. it's nice like, but again not a major whoopdedoo achievement for Moshiri.

The finances. I'm no expert at all, but is his sorting of the debt much different to the steps taken by other not so successful rich new owners when they first came? Has he done something not normally done by the many and varied failed owners across many clubs in the UK? In all my reading on this I've yet to read something to make me feel certain this guy is undeniably better than others who have failed elsewhere. Genuinely asking as I could have missed crucial comforting details on all that!

Transfers. I haven't been overly impressed by the management of or the decision making involved across two windows. Some very good, some good, some average and some bad. It's true it can't all be done in one go but I think we failed miserably in improving our attack and the biggest movement in the ins and outs was still an outgoing large value transfer for Stones which we all know is still very 'Everton' and I don't think the people pointing that out should be shouted down.

On the stadium. Very early days. Haven't commented much on this in the forum as again I don't know enough but like other topics I still feel unsure of where this will actually go. So many steps still to take. Was there this euphoria from fans when it came to Kings Dock? Were so many fans so sure of that?

I'm actually an extremely positive person so the above is more my logical rather than negative side.

I guess I'm waiting for that big moment, whatever it will be that makes me think...Wait a minute this ain't that flimsy unreliable and disappointing Everton I've been watching and following for most of my adult life. This is something new, something great.

I'm not there yet though, so i went with middle of the road from the options although I'd probably be more half way between that and the next option up.

I like this Dave. Indicates you're seeing something positive and different with this regime.

But yeah, not a question of trust for me. Trust is earned through actions, and even then you've still gotta be held accountable.

And while, as I said, I have my disappointments (specifically with the summer window, although I think January was decent), I think there's a broad range of positive actions that we've seen, that indicate there is definitely a stronger hand at the wheel.

I'm fairly positive about things for the first time In I can't remember. But there's no hiding the fact that this summer is an absolutely crucial period for Moshiri and he needs to prove he's learned from last summers debacle and can get the players we need.

There's improvement on and off the field but we're still a long way off where we need to get to.

Not that I want to sound ungrateful but I see it as a lot of talk so far.

Put the shovel in the ground on Bramley Moore Dock, and sign the players to keep Rom and I'll say I'm 100% in the top category.

The stadium is the big thing. If you want to listen to the attention seekers then that's up to you, this stadium issue is a monumental moment in our history, a place where my kids, grandkids and great grandkids are going to visit, some of them possibly this time next century.

If it was so easy, is it merely a coincidence it's happened within a year of Moshiri taking over?

He's cleared the debt, he's purchased the land and he's Arranging the funds for the club to be self sustainable.

Some are suggesting he should be paying for it, well that's laughable. No club that I know of has had an owner simply purchase a stadium for them. So why is Moshiri up for criticism for not doing this?

Chelsea have had their owner for 15 years and only now is he help purchase the stadium. Even City's owners clearly purchased them because of the stadium.

Sorry, i don't agree with dismissing either the super positive or negative posters as the balance is found with both inputs.

I haven't read anything to make me think this job is done, that we have the stadium and will be in it in a few years. You are talking like it's a done deal when there's still a long way to go. I haven't mentioned anything about him paying for it.

It's certainly possible more announcements will come in the next few months that will confirm just how set in stone it all is but I don't think that moment has arrived just yet.

I'd be more at the fingers crossed rather than hands in the air waving madly with joy stage at the moment.
