Also, i was just discussing this in town with some drunk guy - Rather than Jacobsen coming on, i think Rodwell shouldve came on, and dropped Neville to Right back. Wouldve been better imo...

Neville would've got roasted, he loves the "back off back off" technique when hes back there, wouldve been just as bad.
we didnt have any right sided defenders capable other than Hibbert who was booked, and then mercilessly exposed.
Usually he is reliable. off day for him.

Becoming more unreliable - dragged off at half time against Villa after being roasted by Ashley Young. Chelski did see our right as being weak and set out to exploit it. Desperately need right back and right midfielder in summer....

I can't believe we lost. The road this team travelled to get to the final - I thought Everton were destined to win the Cup.

The obvious disappointment over the result is mixing with frustration over the performance. Players that I hoped would have a great game didn't even have a good game. And I don't think that Chelsea even played all that well.

One guy in particular - Phil Neville. He had a rough start to the year but he earned my admiration for just being a rock and guiding this team through a tumultuous season. Great captain. But today he was appalling. I am at a complete loss as to why he just didn't seem ready to compete. And it seemed like this spread to the rest of the team. I don't know. Just so disappointed.

Dissappointed of course but proud of the fact that we even got to the final considering the opposition we had to beat to get there.

Proud of the majority of supporters at the game (always the idiots who spoil it but nothing much we can do about them), many of us stayed to the point where our boys left the field.
Many of us too, applauded Chelsea when they lifted the Cup.
They were the better team by a mile. The fact that some of our big players didnt perform was almost irrelevent. They were better on the day and I doubt many other teams deprived of 3 of their more influential players could have contained them either.
The heat was incredible, many people including me, required first aid attention (heat stroke they said).
How on earth any of the players managed more than a stroll in the 30+ temperatures is beyond me.

Look at this as the start of a new dawn with DM and the team that he is building, let's not start bickering about BK and the lack of money, who didnt play well and who coulda, shoulda, woulda made the difference.

The better team won and although it hurts like hell not to have celebrated a great victory for our wonderful Blues, let's celebrate a good season and more to come in the future.

Ok just watched the goals.........

Chelsea 2 - Everton 1

Drogbas goal, there are 5 Everton players in the box when the cross comes in and only Drogba. No excuse.

Lampards goal, he slips and still manages to get his shot in, again 5 players standing watching, this is Lampard who has probably scored about 50 goals from outside the box against us. Howard should have pushed it out as well, but it was a decent strike. But it should have never been allowed to leave his foot. No excuse.
