It probably illustrated where we need to improve the team this summer, on the right hand side - both right back and midfield - if we are to compete.

Outclassed in every department, sadly. Chelsea where the superior team and fully deserved there win. Our lack of composure was painful to watch at times and our big players didn't stand up.
But it's been a good season, the team has done terrific to get to the final and they finished 5th in style. There's definitely something to build on there, I just hope we don't piss about in the summer.

Neither of them have the pace to keep up. the best then is not to get tight, but to keep off them. that is the only way to deal with top class players - that, and crunching tackles. We were alright. We didn't look particularly inferior to Chelsea, who's starting XI cost about £100m more than our's, until Lampard scored. Our inability to mount a sustained attempt to get an equaliser was deflating, but Chelsea might be the best team in the world at defending a lead.
Saha's early goal was a nice moment even in hindsight, though it felt like a great moment at the time. Obviously hoped for more and am gutted, but it's been a good season and we have progressed.
Had Hibbert been told not to close Malouda down - he left him out wide a few times, not just the goal, and then Jacobsen seemed to have been given the same orders. I noticed Hibbert doing the same thing against Ashley Young in the cup as well.
I'll be sleeping reasonably well tonight...
That was their 1st XI...
Remove their best defender, midfielder and striker and what kind of team could anyone else in the league field?... No Terry, Lampard and Drogba and they'd be a pathetic excuse for a team...
We did ourselves proud, just should've scored in the last minute, not the first.
