Progress, more points, higher finish, cup run. Can't make a proper prediction till we see who we sign but be a big let down if we don't break our transfer record this summer.

I woudn't be surprised if we are still in 7th, this time next year.

I would accept it gladly, if it meant winning one of the EL/FA Cup/LC.

We have to win something next season.

There should be a lot of new players hopefully, all of which will have to come in and bed down under Koeman's methods. That will take time.

In addition, we are likely to lose Lukaku.

There should be lots of change so people expecting much more may well be disappointed.

We need some shrewd signings, and a lot more luck with injuries.

Even if all goes relatively well, we have no control over the sides above us, who will all likely spend at least as much if not more than us, being quite ahead already.

7th would be minimum with the above proviso.

I would not be happy to accept lower in the league even with a long run in the Europa League, or a cup win elsewhere. The likes of West Brom and Soton should never be near us, whatever the circumstances.

I realistically think this is about a good 3-4 year plan, and the 5th year we really should be looking back at the past 20 years with a shudder.

So realistically, I expect to see more deadwood cleared out. With big thanks to the likes of Lennon, McCarthy, Funes Mori, they aren't quite good enough for where we want to be.

So with deadwood cleared out, I expect us to sign superior replacements, and crucially new wing backs (as back ups or gradual replacements for Baines, and a potentially depleted Coleman), wingers, a couple of centre forwards... ah hell, we need a new squad, more of everything really... which will be interesting.

And realistically I want a push for top 6, the hope is Liverpool, Arsenal don't make Europe, as they genuinely don't seem to have the owners willingness to splash cash, and they would be our closest targets for cracking the top 6, then top 4.

A good cup run, with hope we may win a trophy.

League Cup, Europa League and FA Cup are up for grabs.

So far, United haven't faced TOO much of a test in their run to the semis, it's doable, let's just get a break and hope for the best.

Top 4 is the outside possibility, and you just never know, but realistically.

Mass clearout, good replacements, more inprovement and hopefully a trophy at the end of it.

Will it?

You honestly think any of the teams below us are capable of a 14 point swing on us?

The Top 7 is the Top 7, it isn't changing anytime soon.
We had Lukaku this season and no workload other than the 38 PL games and a couple of cup matches.

Next season that changes. And next season other clubs will see Everton as a scalp again and there'll be no soft touches for us.

It gets difficult from now on without MAJOR squad investment.

Huh?

When you say again, you mean after the last 2 years under Martinez were we were seen as a soft touch?

I get that.

Yes, we were seen that way due to the flouncing bunch of cowards like your mates Jagielka and Baines.

The cups dont matter...remember?

In a passionate explanation to reporters, Mourinho said that a potential Europa League final could be played in "disastrous" circumstances and that he may be forced to play his club's under-23 side against Crystal Palace on the last day of the Premier League season.

"Imagine if we were also in the FA Cup semi-final," he said. "We would have had a game against Burnley that would have to be played later.

"When? After the FA Cup final? In June? In next pre-season? In the end, it was a blessing that we didn't make the cup semis.

"You are punished because you are doing well. If we beat Celta, we have the final. The final is on the Wednesday after we have played Crystal Palace on the Sunday and Southampton the Wednesday before that.

"Maybe I can bring Nicky Butt and his under-23 team to play Palace. Hopefully they don't need the points to stay in the division, because it would be very bad if we play with the under-23s. It's difficult."

I found it quite telling that not a single Martinez signing played yesterday Dave.

Changing of the guard almost complete.

Yes, apart from Lukaku, the best signing for 40 years..and Barkley who Martinez pretty much breathed life into his career and Davies who he brought through via Unsworth in a system he set up.

Besides all them, yes.
