Hows that Dennis Adeniran doing ? My flatmate whose a Fulham supporter reckons he's the absolute dogs bollocks and a better prospect than sessengon but not even sure if he's getting games in our U23 at the moment ?

By all accounts he's looked the real deal, although I believe Unsy took him off in the last game, though I don't remember if it was tactical or if he wasn't having a good performance. But the early returns have been promising. He's formed a real partnership in midfield with Beni.

..,you have to think Schneiderlin, Besic and McCarthy are ahead of Beningime in the queue. My son said to me at HT Gueye was a sending off waiting to happen so yes, it wouldn’t have been rocket science to replace him with a similar type. Indeed, Gueye was outstanding up to the first yellow but was then playing in 2nd gear.

I'll be honest I'd forgotten Besic and McCarthy still play for us lol

Scored tonight in the 2-1 loss to Lincoln. As has been said he’s formed a promising partnership with Beningime , I think he’s the more attacking of the two , likes to get forward and looks well built and powerful when on the ball.

Just in case people have missed these, ex-Academy keeper Sam Carroll is doing a series of articles from the time he signed for the club until he was released at 15, well worth a read for those interested in the youth teams. Played with Pennington, Long and Molyneux - not sure if he is the same Sam Carroll who seems to have taken over the Echo live blog recently?

...very good insight. I have experience of this myself and what I never like is clubs act like they are doing kids a favour by taking them on. They play on the fact that many parents desperately want their sons connected with a football club. It’s a dream. Make no mistake, if you’re Wayne Rooney or Michael Owen the boot is on the other foot and there’s nothing they wouldn’t do to keep you.

There are lots more Sam Carroll’s than there are Wayne Rooney’s.

The 18-year-old Scouser's current deal at Goodison is due to expire next summer

Everton youngster Morgan Feeney is to be rewarded for his impressive development with a new long-term contract at the club.

The 18-year-old Scouser's current deal at Goodison Park is due to expire next summer, but talks over an extension are expected to conclude soon.

Feeney 's form for the Blues' Under-23 side has been strong this season, and he has been promoted to train with the senior side at Finch Farm on a number of occasions.

A boyhood Evertonian, the Bootle-born centre back impressed interim U23s boss Francis Jeffers in the Checkatrade Trophy defeat to Lincoln City on Tuesday night, and has big admirers in David Unsworth and John Ebbrell, the Blues' new caretaker management team.

The club believe he has a chance to progress towards the first team in the coming months and years, with his no-nonsense approach and deceptive pace catching the eye on more than one occasion.

Everton's defence has not covered itself in glory so far this season, with Phil Jagielka, Ashley Williams and Michael Keane all struggling. Mason Holgate is next in line, with Ramiro Funes Mori still sidelined through injury.

Feeney is understood to be keen to commit his long-term future to the club he has always supported, and the hope is that a deal can be finalised within the next few weeks.

Absolutely fantastic this mate and thanks for posting. I've read 2 of them and will read the rest after the match ;)

...England beat Brazil in the semi final of the U17 World Cup with Liverpool’s Rhian Brewster scoring a hat-trick. Don’t think Lewis Gibson was involved.
Brewster is obviously a talent. Back to back hat-tricks at any level is fantastic, let alone the quarters and semi's of a World Cup. Foden also caught my eye, lad looks a player. Let's hope Gibson gets some sort of run out in the final.

It would be smart of Feeney to stay with our current defensive woes. He would have a great shot at making the 1st team soon.

I hope not mate, in a nice way. Feeney is an excellent 18 year old centre back making great progress but I would not want to see him having to start or play in the 1st team anytime soon. For one thing it would mean we really haven’t sorted our defensive frailties , and Morgan Feeney is not the player we should rush in to do it , he would be battered out of the way physically at the moment by most PL attacks, except our own of course. He’s learning his craft well , using skill , guile and good positioning to dominate attacks at U23s level , I just don’t think he’s ready yet for the PL .

I've seen a few u23 games recently and, for me, the most promising player is Beni Baningime.
He's still only 18, eligible for England, but only has one year left on his contract.
Needs a new contract soon and it would be great to see him get a taste of first team action. We have a lot of DM's so it won't be easy but he seserves a chance.
Posted the above on May 8th. Great to see him get both the contract and the first team chance thanks to Unsworth. He looked composed and committed for the most part and will grow in confidence with more opportunities.

Looked a bit hesitant, first half especially but that tackle did him the world of good, grew in confidence from there.

Looks like he could be another that could come through!
