I saw nothing in today's performance to change any views on the guy and his approach. Turning up for a small portion of a game does not constitute showing passion and fight for the shirt (in contrary to what Shearer and Kilbane were saying on the BBC after the game).

We were a shambles at the back in the first and any 'on their game' strike-force would have put us away, much like the RS did earlier in the week. Our midfield was non-existent at times, McCarthy doing his usual disappearing act, Cleverly spraying balls left, wide and beyond to anyone but blue and Barkley had another shocker.

Why Gibson was allowed stay on the pitch that long either is beyond me, the guy (whatever you think of his performance today, good or bad) hadn't played much all season and he was clearly on his back. Yet someone just stood on the sidelines, like he always does, with the situation being patently obvious to nearly everyone and yet he does nothing, until it is too late.

Besic could have had his confidence destroyed by Martinez today playing him at right back. No blame to Martinez for starting him there given the restrictions we had but after seeing him being roasted time after time by Martial and whoever else, it was hard to watch. He was given no protection either. To his credit he was strong and stood up in the second-half.

Aren't they all? ;)

Haha...anyway...we've had far too many games like that this season...can't remember the last time we played well for an entire game. Seems we can only be up for it for about 45 minutes...if that.
Yes spot on with that comment - need a massive deadwood removal from our club onwards and upwards hopefully next season under our new billionaire ;)

I couldn't work out why we were all backing off them when defending, instead of pressing with 2/3 men like they did to us. It was exactly the same midweek.

I just want everyone to hate us like they did in the 80s
Disagree with that statement. Yes we were winners but played football in the right way and won a lot of admirers for our play. When you speak to opposition supporters they acknowledge what a great team we were in 85. When utd beat us in the 85 final Ron Atkinson said they'd beaten the best side in Europe. I'd replace the word hate us with jealous.

Lukaku is twice the player Martial is, i'm sure he'll continue to prove it in the future
Lukaku does not want to play for us
Martial wants to play for ManU
Think Martial was excellent, unlike our star turns it on when he feels like it
Except he's been so disinterested that he was balls today

No.
Based on the latest evidence, i.e today Martial looked every bit a 50m player, and isn't he still 19?

Lukaku this season: 25 goals in 42
Martial this season: 14 goals in 41

I know stats aren't everything but Rom has carried us this year, he's only 22 himself (Martial 20) he has an off day in front of goal and yes it cost us massively but he is a brilliant player
