You new it was not our day when a former player scores , and the other heads it off the line , and we miss a pen, but let's not kid ourselves RM tactics in the first half were woefull!

The first half was bad, no doubt about it. Lucky to not be down more really. Thought his tactic in the second half were much better.

The first half of that match had all the hallmarks we have come to expect from Everton in recent times: no pressure on the ball when not in possession, poor defending, and slowness going forward with too many sideways/backwards passes. The second half showed some of the positive characteristics that we have displayed all too rarely this season - quick tempo and fluid play when breaking forward, but was marred by poor finishing, and by the now classic Everton trick of conceding goals in injury time.

Positives we can take from this:
1. Martinez is definitely going
2. Lukaku has hardly put himself in the shop window that effectively missing so many chances. Hopefully he will stick around into next season when he will be helping Everton mount a title challenge.

What was Stones doing today ? Beat by Fellani and Tony ? Whenever I see him on the pitch, his jaw is always moving...at his own teammates...with a "WTF" look on his face. Don't think he had much reason to do that today.

After a cooling off period and a couple of whiskey's i can begin to reflect, i thought we were terribly unlucky to lose. I still feel like Stones and Jagielka were brilliant and i would absolutely love to see Stones slowly edge out Barry in CDM over the next season. I think Barkley and Stones both need some real support and guidance from the next man in charge also. Robles has been magnificent in the cup this year and has been a silver lining in this whole season of disappointment and heartbreak. Deulofeu can really become a special player and i hope he stays with us. We need investment in the summer though thats undeniable - hopefully we won't lose too many, i think replacing Rom will be the most difficult task we have faced in a long time. However, with Martinez hopefully leaving and Moshiri in charge i like to think that the not too distant future will be a lot brighter!

I genuinely think that is an unfair assumption that folks are making. Talk about damned if you do and damned if you don't.
Yes but look at that first half defending on the six yard box in massive numbers, inviting them on giving Rooney the freedom of the park only for Robles it should have been all over!
