It's going to take a lot more than 4 games to make any sort of judgement, if folk really think we should be fighting for a CL spot this season they're in cuckoo land. Patience and encouragement while he tries to build something out of the car crash that was last season. I heard Lookman take some boos and the abuse Davies gets is unreal. Some blues are as bad as the RS.

It's very much a recent thing too.

Leicester winning it has poisoned the hearts of so many. previously sensible supporters.

Insulting to Huddersfield who got what they came for. Many times Everton have played the same way to dig out a point. Huddersfield are not yet established in this league and have done really well to get a second season. The point entirely is why we could not create enough to win at home.
Fact is, it is very early days and some of our signings have not kicked a ball for us as yet. We will have an idea about ten games in. Its a long road to sort out the shambles of last season.
I don’t think it’s insulting at all, they spent the whole game time wasting from the first minute. Pathetic team who lower the standard of the PL.

I’m well aware of the point and my post highlights that.

Frustration out there, and understandably since the gap from our 9 points vs the available 15 was tight. So despite being unbeaten, we go into the break feeling miffed. Huddersfield did their job (in the manner harder-working Moyes sides took points off bigger teams, so hats off to them there), but on paper we should of course be beating Huddersfield home and away.

Totally agree with the comment re: International break... rest up lads and lets sort the injuries (why so many this far into a season?). Cenk has a difficult job as a lone striker with the support on hand yesterday - encouraging to see Lookman though. Need more midfield players getting into the box with him (something Davie, Sigs and MS need to think about), and we missed service from Richarlison, too.

Overall, feels like a kind run of opening fixtures could have produced at least 4 more points. Burnley, Utd and maybe even Arsenal could be catchable this year so c'mon Marco -be ruthless in fixing the the issues above. Let's have youngsters in the cups (good stuff vs Rotherham!) and really hit the league hard.

Peace and love Everton.

Yeah that was an amazing win and I'm glad for Leicester. Similarly Watford's and Burnley's rise in recent years - all without monster cash. It shows what can be done with good tactics, buys and hard work, things that characterised us under Moyes. Totally get we haven't seen enough of that at Everton in recent seasons, but slamming the youngsters (or any player, really) is vile and utterly counter-productive.

Poor game, tone was set by time wasting in the first minute, allowed continuously by Atwell - a very poor referee.

Game needed midfield control and that was not provided by the Davies/Schneiderlin combo. Subs were baffling to everyone sat by me....Lookman aside. Although he was generally off the pace, he did create a very good chance.

Just one of those bad days really, one to forget. Zouma does look to be a shrewd loan.

Once again the unexpected expectation that very few of us had pre-season, has turned once again into a monster that will devour every one of you!

I remember back in early August how many were preaching patience and that in fact, this season was a work in progress.
To back the manager and support his teams while the rebuilding takes place.
Remember how may agreed the team needed dismantling and fixing post Ron and Sam.

I remember those sensible times, like it was only a few weeks ago.

It was refreshing to see Zouma in our back four. Sign him permanently Marco!
Zonal marking though.

So the top two - by some distance - vote winners for MOTM at home versus Huddersfield are two defenders. Huddersfield. At home. Chew on that folks.

Look, I hate doing this, I really do for a multitude of reasons, but I want to be as successful as them, I want to be as good as they are right now. I’m jealous, I’m an Evertonian and I crave a winning mentality. I’m talking about the [Poor language removed] across the park. They would have battered this parked Huddersfield bus today, probably 4 or 5 nil.

Are you basing this on their league wins over the last few years and their long streak of not dropping points to defensive sides at home over this same period? There definitely hasn't been a result like this since Klippety took over has there?

Remember when Citeh battered Huddersfield's parked bus 0-0 last season? The same Citeh side who were on their way to coasting the title with a record points haul, record goals haul and numerous other records?

It's no secret that the RS have a better side than us at the moment but get them bed sheets in the wash.

Zouma Did well...still needs smoothing over but did well.
Silva another Martinez...stubborn to change a style that obviously doesnt work... Corner defending i mean.
and TOM Davies he is really really really lucky to be playing Premiership football......Total RUBBISH
he cant defend, cant breakup play, cant distribute the ball... and this is his stats from last 3 Games combined.

wrong substitiution made by silva, should have taken off DAVIES instead and i believe something good would still have happened. If Gueye isnt passed fit for the next match anybody would do but him. imagine we let BESIC go out on loan instead of DAVIES. he would have done a far better job.

I think everyone needs to calm down and let Silva work his magic. Hes the right man for the job but needs time to settle in his signings but also bring more of his own players in.

Besides according to some points are irrelevant at this stage of the season.

Pinning my hopes on this - this was a match that had to happen.
Bc unlike Big Sam and the shambles that was the Koeman era, I believe Silva can learn and improve a lot from this.
That is, the problems and weaknesses were all the more telling without Richarlison, and against a Prem side parking the bus.
Its going to take time to get to get his style and vision up and running.
He's got Walcott and Coleman on the right, two players that used to have pace, that could skip pass players at will.
You could always guarantee Coleman working the right side, ensuring decent crosses and scoring chances.
Silva's got nothing on the right at the moment. And with DCL on the left it basically left the attack impotent.
Can't see DCL ever getting a game on the wing again.
And I don't think Walcott will ever have the game to work with others to break down teams who park it.
So Silva has a huge task of getting an in from Coleman, JJK, Bernard and maybe Lookman ripping it consistently.
If this happens and you've got Digne and Richo on the left then the team can actually start playing.
But the real issue for me remains, can Silva find a solution to no.10.
For me Sigurdsson is a luxury we have been able to afford.
The question is, do we want to play like Iceland or do we want be able to take on bus parkers as well as the RS.
I'd always take the latter, teams like Huddersfield need to be put to the sword.
I like Sig, he gives it everything, he's got class, but its not working.

Yeah interesting re: Sigs. I like him but don't think he's Everton, somehow.
