24 hrs since kick off yesterday.
After a considerable amount of angst/frustration/ fume and a similar amount of alcohol I have calmed down a touch. Taking out the obvious horrendous set piece defending , playing against a team who's intentions were made clear from the kick off. Our 2 best players (by a mile) were summer signings.
Due to injury/ suspension the replacments are not of the required level we want or need.
Tough to take against a team that could be playing all week without looking like scoring ( barring a gift from us) .
If we had our full strength 11 out yesterday I'm pretty sure there is only one winner.
This squad will take another 2/3 windows to be anywhere near what we want it to be.
So for now I accept this is what transition means , I think we wont see the best of this team till new year as the new/ better players start to gel.
Rome wasnt built in a day as they say.

Zouma for me.

Completely forgettable game. Like being back with Allardyce again. Hope we get some players back from injury real soon. We have got to do a lot better than this tripe.
I thought it more like Martinez; plenty of possession consisting mainly of backwards passes. No cutting edge in the final third. Lost all impetus when Walcott went off. Don't know why Sigurdsson went off when Davies looked knackered and was not at his best. Feel a bit for him as don't think playing that deep is his position.

Couldn't believe some of the ref/linesman's decisions especially regarding Billing. I like him as a player and think he'd be great for us but he should've got a second yellow about three times over!

All in all a game to forget. The only player that impressed me was Zouma. Thought he was excellent.

I was away this weekend in the wilderness with no internet. Genuinely expected 3 points from this game and couldn't imagine that not being the case.

Everton still find ways to surprise and horrify.

Nice return to reality.

Are you basing this on their league wins over the last few years and their long streak of not dropping points to defensive sides at home over this same period? There definitely hasn't been a result like this since Klippety took over has there?

Remember when Citeh battered Huddersfield's parked bus 0-0 last season? The same Citeh side who were on their way to coasting the title with a record points haul, record goals haul and numerous other records?

It's no secret that the RS have a better side than us at the moment but get them bed sheets in the wash.

Better side than us??? Your havin' a laugh. No, I'm basing it on the three times Liverpool destroyed City, the eventual champions, last season, how their magnificent attacking style of play steamrolls the opposition - all the while they, very quickly, massively upgraded their defense, and other weak areas, to complete a team that I think will win it all this season. They are that good. And I wish we were too.

Disappointing performance and result. We just didn't move the ball quick enough and get in behind to create enough clear cut chances. Frustrating with the fixtures we've been given we haven't been able to capitalise although we remain unbeaten the last 2 draws have felt more like defeats leaving the ground.

In the other games he hasn't scored Tosun has contributed and been quite involved still without scoring but thought for the majority of the game on Saturday he didn't really offer much in that sense either. We look very limited in central midfield thought first half Tom Davies did ok but second half just completely went to pieces kept giving the ball away so cheaply.

Huddersfield did a good job on us even with all the time wasting etc we just didn't do enough. I thought the substitutions were poor understand he wanted to push 2 up and go 4-4-2 would've rather seen DCL go up with Niasse last 15 mins and kept Sigurdsson on.

International break has come up at a good time hopefully some of the injured players will be ready for West Ham.

Didn't see the game, was on the road all afternoon. However the problem isn't difficult to spot. Richarlison suspended, Walcott off after an hour or so and Tosun just isn't good enough for the Premier League. So nothing at the sharp end once again.

I think everyone needs to calm down and let Silva work his magic. Hes the right man for the job but needs time to settle in his signings but also bring more of his own players in.

Besides according to some points are irrelevant at this stage of the season.

Haha - spot on fella Silva needs more time and his / Brands signings to be fit and in.

Points 'irrelevant' though... shudder.

Pickford was decent some good distribution
Digne was very good but tired , looking like a good buy
Holgate is improving but was caught out of position on a couple of occasions.
Zouma looked assured strong comfortable on the ball and will be a certain starter on that performance
Coleman was very poor
Schnederlin was decent in defence but offered nothing going forward
Davies ran a lot but offered nothing offensively
Siggy played some lovely passes and worked hard but didn’t impose himself on the game , being subbed was baffling
Walcott played well till his injury
DCL scores and ran and tackled but didn’t offer a threat on the wing
Tosun was poor Poor touch and positioning
Lookman looked lively going forward but was knocked off the ball too easily
Naisse done nothing
I’m prepared to give Silva time but that was shocking today
Ricarlison Bernard Gomes along with Mina Digne and Zouma need to be integrated into the side quickly
Zonal marking doesn’t work for us
I was always told space don’t score goals players do

Zouma , with Digne looking promising

Davies was frustrating to put it mildly the amount of time he gave the ball away had to be seen to be believed , I always try and give the young players the benefit of the doubt but he is getting to me TBH !
