whos the 11? i only count 8 and half them are over 20 now

'Youth' who have played more than once in the first team this season

Lookman (20)
DCL (20)
Holgate (21)
Davies (18)
Sandro (22)
Baningime (19)
Vlasic (20)
Kenny (20)
Feeney (18/19?)

We've got tons of promising ones in the U23s to boot, plus the likes of Robinson and Dowell on loan.

i know, i think he was counting the likes of lookman and vlasic as 'youth' players.

In fairness so have I.

They are all youngsters, so saying that we don't have a lot of 'youth' in the squad is a bit of a stretch. We have loads of it.

yeh we have plenty, its great to see as its our only hope of getting where we want to be.
if we we can trim our absurdly bloated squad of the complete dross and add genuine quality to go with the young 1st teamers we should be in a good place.

..aside from this ‘trial’ game for fringe players, I hope the powers that be are still tuned into the performances of loanees. This was included in the scope of Joe Royle’s post but i’m not sure who’s responsibility it is now. I imagine the vast majority of loanees are in the shop window (including Browning, Galloway, Robinson and Williams) but a couple (Dowell and Connolly) might be considered as having a chance.

I’ve not heard Allardyce talk about the loanees, it would be good if he was asked ( particularly about Dowell who now has 9 goals from midfield for Forest).

I was just thinking about this over the weekend. I wonder who is in charge of monitoring the lads on loan?

I had a mate at finch farm today (not a blue)......

Said:

Kev M was the most disinterested player there. didnt want to know.

keane bagged a header.

Bolasie looked good, but could tell he'd been out a while.

Rooney turned up later to watch.

(nothing ground breaking there i know).

7 of them are pretty much in the match day squad every week, the only thing that is youth about them in honesty is there age! So on that baasis they should be counted as full first team members, not "youth fillers"

I dont think that was the argument mate, i think it was more to do with the amount of players with decent premier league experience we have in our squad and the amount of players we have who are past the playing for the u23s mark

Heard Bolasie went down clutching his knee and was rushed off to the medical room. Can anybody confirm this is BS?
