I can't believe someone actually thinks we would be a better side minus rodwell:unsure:
take rodwell out take the link man out. football stops, hoofball starts.

It not just that mate. If Blackburn were a better side they would've utilised the space Rodwell tends to leave in attacks - they did hit the bar, forced some good saves from Howard and some scrambles all from players carrying the ball through the middle and laying off out wide. I still sense a Spurs or Man Citeh would easily pass through our midfield without much trouble.

He's still young and learning. But to still put the trust into the lad right now is too much in the Prem against better sides IMO.

Game was won pretty much as soon as we touched the ball. Blackburn offered nothing at all.

Impressed with the usual suspects, but once again I found myself frustrated at the ridiculous subs again.

Game is won right? Who needs games? Who needs minutes to sharpen up some fitness?

Yakubu that is who! Not Jo, not Hibbert and not Gosling.

For me it really pissed me off, Moyes is just far too predictable in his changes and none of the three that came on made an impact whatsoever.

They were nothing subs where nothing was gained. We could have taken advantage of the situation and brought on Yak, Wallace and Agard.

Silly again from Moyes, he gets a 3 from me!

The game was won, why did he need to make subs to change the game? Most of that team played on Thursday and a lot will no doubt play again on Wednesday, its a squad game.

I think we might see Yak start on Wednesday.

Your a shocking "fan" you.

They probably would but it's not all down to Jack Rodwell. Cahill and Fellaini have to take responsibility aswell, there all in it together. Believe me, it isn't just Jack Rodwell who lets runners go.

What Jack Rodwell offers is vital, composure in possession and the ability to get a grip of the game if we keep the ball on the deck. At the moment, especially with Arteta out, he has to play.

I din't think we have missed lescot one bit,and that is mainly down to how well distin has fitted in.

I wish howard would command his box better and help our defenders out from crosses. good shot stopper though.

You have a point, but it still adds to the fact that he's still learning. Cahill and Fellaini are playing out of position but are as much to blame as Rodwell.

I guess I'm just thinking we need a little more experience in there. Which is why I'd chose Neville over Rodwell even though you could argue that Rodwell is a better footballer technically. Its also why Id give Heitinga a shout there. If it doesnt work out all we got is Rodwell.

I just worry about when we play a big rough team ala Stoke, or even one of the top sides because while Rodwell is a fine player, he's not ready to be relied upon to hold the midfield in those games.

Probably 100% wrong and Moyes seems to put every faith in the boy.

He didn't need to make subs to change the game you big melt, he could have given players who needed game time, and he never.

Seen the incident and was laughing at all the twisted faces he got from the crowd but now this? Will surely pass over, the article is a bit vague like.

I was right there in the corner, some lad behind us lobbed a pie at him.

Well I've seen nothing to suggest Cahill or Fellaini can do a better job. He protects the back four to a reasonable level and he also does the job there supposed to do - get on the ball and pass it.

I'd agree with you if Neville or Arteta would fit but in Fellaini, Cahill and possibly Heitinga I don't see where we have the options. Someone who can get on the ball and get of grip of the game is a must - as proved today. We'll brush average sides like Blackburn aside.

I just don't see how we can leave him out at the moment. That's why I want the midfield to play closer together, so we can cover Rodwell, Fellaini and Cahill's deficiencies and become more of a solid unit.
