When we went up, with our team since we had to chase the game, you just knew we'd come close to conceding.

Clearly, they need to get better pace in the wide spaces. Rooney was just awful for the most part, but again, he's playing wide, that's not where he should be playing. Siggy same thing - although I still think he's going to come good. Again, a couple touches from him and an unfortunate save, but still some horrible hold up play at times. His pass to find Lookman before the first goal was precise. His one touch to spring the play wide left right before the 2nd goal was lovely as well. But let's STOP playing Rooney and Siggy is those wide positions, it's just stupid.

We have GOT to get a CB and a CF in the window, though. Jags was destroyed today. Just dominated. He's just not physical enough and his pace has gone a bit to play at this level anymore. Niasse works hard, but he's just not the guy. Honestly, if we got a CB and a CF that were good in the air, we would at least score a few on set pieces.

It always feels good to win and it's somehow better to come from behind. But let's be honest we needed the luck we had today. Losing their goalie aided us mightily, Calvert - Lewins goal was down to very poor goalkeeping. A penalty miss secured our victory.
Bottom line was that while I was relieved to walk out with a smile on my face, we are still an utter shambles , just that today we were a lucky shambles.

hate to say it but I thought Keane was shocking again for both goals. I can't think of the last time I saw such a bad defender for Everton (obv excepting AW).
how much did we pay for him again?

How did Watford not win that game? After the Baines' miss in the first half - a total lack of self-belief - I was convinced EFC would never, ever
score. Watford were more fluent and had a plan and EFC did not.

Selection moans: How did Unsworth pick both out-of- form no.10's Siggi and Rooney when the result is that there is no width or trickery against a big defense? And then plays Davies off Niasse !! EFC did not have a clue in the first half how to attack.

It was only when Unsworth went to Plan B did luck go our way. Niasse, I think, nobbled, Gomez and Lookman came on. A lucky penalty conceded against Lennon, a dodgy new goalie and a last-minute penalty miss. It really went out way.

But no-one inside or outside the club has an idea of our best starting eleven. We are still deep in the mire because we have so many weaknesses that the team functions badly.
