this is how the game will be

1-15 mins - quiet start, neither team really creating any opportunities

15-30 mins - everton create the best chance of the game, the fans are going how on earth did he miss, dele alli grins and says even me dead pet goldfish could have buried that theo

30-45 mins - all spurs, even the everton fans felt the inevitable harry kane goal was coming, the groans for the past 10 minutes did nothing to stop the ball going into the back of the net as a misplaced pass leaves harry kane with a simple 35 yard finish

45-60 mins - everton come out of the blocks the better side, sigurdsson hits 3 shots over the bar, the fans think the comeback is on but boom spurs get a second goal on the counter, 2-0 and look who it is, son heung min with a simple tap in from a moura cross, pickford flaps in the air thinking he looks like a ballet dancer with gloves but can't prevent the goal

60-75 mins - the home fans are singing 'ton ton ton' to no avail, misplaced passes all over the gaff, the gaffer has had enough and brings on young tom davies to save the day, they call this the grim period because both sides are grim, spurs miss a few shots, everton have 2 corners that fail to clear the first player

75-90 mins - the ref makes a few stupid decisions, the home fans are annoyed, there is some colourful language coming from the stands, even marco silva is gesticulating with his hands, richarlison goes down in the box 4 times, he slipped on 3 ocasions, a fan shouts 'can't wait for VAR to come in'. Spurs go on the attack, harry kane is one on one with keane, its keane v kane, oh dear keane falls over as he runs backwards and kane slots it in for 3. Game over, everton defy expectations to only lose by 3 goals.

I am still not convinced with Pickford. He can make the impossible look easy and the easy look impossible. That means he is inconsistent which, in turn, means his defence can't 100% rely on him and that affects their confidence and decision making.

I am sure as he matures as a 'keeper he will improve his decision making but right now he needs to concentrate on not making any (more) silly mistakes and building a good understanding and confidence with his defence.

Bags of natural talent without a doubt, but it needs channeling properly.

One mistake means he’s inconsistent? What is it with the constant griping at players and looking for a scapegoat? Boils my slash.

That was me mate. Poch is ok but has yet to win anything here.he will be off next season methinks. Agree it would be great to be where spuds are but do you seriously think they will bother the rs or city?

Maybe. Maybe not. But they are in contention. And have been top 4 last few seasons. Last 16 in champions league and league Cup semi finalists.
Only one team can win a competition. But be nice to be contending in them all
 
I’m feeling a little teary...the Christmas edition of The Love Boat is on the telly and Capt Stubing has just had an existential moment with Julie, Isaac, Gopher and Doc....I recall first seeing this episode as a kid in the 70s, and Dad (RIP) in the background saying “what’s this rubbish ?”
I love Christmas SO much...
I hope Everton can win tonight ...
