Just got home from the match. Christ alive. I'm sure it's been done to death already so I'm not even going to bother. First half was hands down the worst I've ever seen us play. It's days like this that make me wonder what the point of it all is. Long old day just to see us lose. But then I think back to the end of the United match and remember. Bloody Everton.

Honest question here: Why is Fellaini playing farther up the field than Arteta? I started following Everton last year, and I seem to recall when those two played together it was the other way around: Fellaini more DM and Arteta more in the attacking role.

Because Fellaini is 6ft 4 and can head the ball.

For all his faults, I think many today are finally recognizing the benefits of having Neville on the pitch.

He would NEVER let us hang our heads or mail it in.

I can't of the last time we got 3 in the prem when he didn't start.

At least we tried against Villa and Blackburn

Can't believe I made a 400 mile+ round trip for that. No movement, no creativity, nothing. Hoofing long balls up to Fellaini, who towards the end seemed to be playing of Yakubu FFS. Surely should be the other way around???? Was painful to watch. Worst I can remember us playing since Benfica away, and that was a practically second string XI with half of them playing out of position. Osman barely ran faster than a jog the whole game, why Moyes took Hibbo off for Coleman and not him beggars belief, he had a nightmare. He can't play on the right. When will Moyes realise what everyone else knows? Arteta was playing far to deep to have any real effect, Heitinga was gash, gave the ball away nearly every time he touched it. The referee was a complete cretin, played advantage every time he should have blown and blew every time he sould have played advantage, and let them kick seven bells out of us. We might have had 2 penalties on another day (Fellaini held in box, Yakubu pulled down in box, both 2nd half) but in fariness he probably should have given fat [Poor language removed] Nolan a peno too. Pienaar, Fellaini and maybe Yakubu were the only one two (three) worthy of the shirt today.

Aaah to hell with it. I'm just venting spleen now. Just made it back to Somerset from Liverpool in just over 3 hours so a little on edge. Thank God for West Ham is all I can say.

Sort it out, Moyes. Quickly.

Umm,i see the pitchforks are being sharpened and perhaps this time it may well be justified we will see,but given we're paying nothing for players we're going to have to be patient i suppose

Don't panic. When I get there I'm going to replace Hibbert with Coleman, and Osman with anyone (Gueye, even Neville if necessary).

Sorry lids. I put the gun to his head, and he said "you can shoot me, Mikky Round, every other member of the management team, and the canteen ladies. But Tony and Leon will still start. And as you've questioned me, Distin's going in as well".

We started the game alright and it looked like Arteta was finally getting back to his best, just turning in midfield and dictating play. That lasted 10minutes, before it all went wrong. I think every single player was having a really bad game, couldn't make one pass without it being overhit or inaccurate.

On top of this, our defense looked a real mess. Not just the defensive line - Newcastle just walked through our midfield to get in front of our defense, there was just a ******* massive gap between midfield and defense, because our mids which should be playing deep were just all over the ******* pitch. The team over the years has been built on solidity, the way we make it impossible for teams to break us down. I think those days are behind us, we've converted to a more attacking style hoping that the defensive side would remain as solid as it had been over the years. That hasn't happened unfortunately... defense needs work.

We were [Poor language removed] in possession. Couldn't play the ball properly... ever! Just [Poor language removed] passes everytime, it was so painful to watch. I thought the halftime subs would make more impact than they did. I can't say I thought Coleman did well, because he didn't unfortunately, I thought he looked too scared to attack Newcastles fullbacks at times. Yak was ok I guess, better than Beckford it has to be said. I'd really like Beckford to come good and obviously I think he should be given time, but that time can't be given when we're in this sort of position, because he's been [Poor language removed] and we can't afford to be starting [Poor language removed] players at this moment in time. I don't think we play to his strengths either, but he's also woeful on the ball - I'd be disappointed if he started the next game, unless it was in a 4-4-2.

We need Cahill and Anichebe. I think Vic is the answer to the right hand side in the long term, not Coleman but that said, if Rodwell got a start ahead of Osman on the right, then Moyes must surely know that side of the pitch is just a ******* disgusting rat in a bowl of chocolate mousse. Cahill, our talisman, drives our team on and we missed him yesterday fo sho.

I can't think of much else, other than Moyes needs to grow some balls. He keeps talking about this strong squad, but he doesn't use it... tries the same [Poor language removed] over and over. We have played well with this team before and no doubt yesterday was a once off with how woeful it was, but there are players who shouldn't be getting into our team and others who should be sacraficed to experiment and hopefully find a WINNING team.

We all had such high hopes for this season and its slowly fading away. Theres still a long way to go and I'm sure we'll come good soon, but at the end of the day, we've dropped a lot of points already which we shouldn't be dropping. Disappointed.

2) definate penalty turned down from nolan
