Thats the sword Moyes should ultimately die on .
We have seen improvement under him but his inability to integrate new or younger players is the thing that's stiffeling the club. He is a percentage manager who knows that sticking with the same system and players will generally give you enough points for the upper end of the table but never enough to really be in contention for the top spots.
It all depends on what FKN want from the club , the summer will tell us more, I would be worried if they decide on a contract extension as for me that would show a lack of ambition.

Well said.

Moyes first choice LB is Mykolenko
Moues first choice RB is O'Brien

Thats a fact.

The backup LB is Aznou
The backup RB is Patterson

Moyes signed Aznou.

Moyes refused to continue talks with either Truffert or Wesley who were Thelwell choices.

Moyes wanted Tete who had premier league experience.

He refused to sign anyone else.

Patterson has done fine this season and Aznou did well in his LW cameo we have no idea how good he is.

Weve got the numbers.

As for quality its clear that Moyes will favour premier league experience and ageing players.

Who is going to join this club under Moyes unless theyre nailed on starters?

We have Aznou. How do we know hes not good enough?

We have Patterson who is an average right back.

Surely its clear Moyes went with O'Brien at preseason and has used him at RB whenever he can. To Moyes hes a RB.

If we get Europe then we'll see what this new recruitment team who have been chosen by Moyes, can do.

If we dont then he'll blame us not having Europe.

I dread when I see rumours of us chasing players who 30years or plus in my view such are football pensioners hardly much years left in them.

I think this is a fair assessment of Moyes but…

It’s exactly what we needed after the last few seasons and…

The gap between fighting for Europe and being in a relegation battle is very narrow, it’s probably what we need for a couple of seasons more. It would be very easy to find ourselves in the position of Forest, West Ham and Spurs.

We can only afford to make incremental improvements to the squad. Look how much the RS and ManU have spent on putting together squads that can’t compete with Arsenal and City and arguably are only marginally better than the chasing pack. Or Chelsea and Newcastle have spent on squads that can’t compete at that level at all.

Feels like Groundhog Day. Nothing to add really beyond that. Sickening.

Just hope we can dust ourselves down and it doesn’t completely derail us. Europe is still there if we want it
Yeah I was angry and gutted last night , like a kick to the b@lls or going through nicotine withdrawal, same this morning but its starting to dissipate, just keeping off social media and whattss app helps until the next thing that comes along.

And I didn't even watch the game, just refreshed my phone for score updates , it's the only fixture I cant watch... anyone else like this?

Wish I didn’t watch it🤢

who does not risk, does not win.
Stability means do what? Compete ?Are you satisfied being in the middle of the standings?
The best players run away from these kinda of teams .
No, the time is now
The time isn't now though is it. That's more William Wallace than WilliamBoo. I feel we have competed well this season with what we have.

I am a lot more satisfied being "middle of the standings" than almost being relegated. We are mathematically safe from relegation and it isn't down to the last game (or few games).

Last few seasons:

24/25: 13th
23/24: 15th
22/23: 17th

Looking at the above, even if we finish 10th, that is still continual improvement. I would be disgruntled if we finished below last season. We have no right to expect Europe.

You mention who does not risk does not win. There is also, risk it all and lose it all. We need balance and an actual strategy. Moshiri risked all the first few years and it messed us up big time. This is much better......for now.

I suppose you like Mcneil who had two ,five second flashes that will give him a place in the next game . All is never black or white and freak results do happen but Moyes is and has been for a while too stuck in his style ,why do you think he shouldn't play other players ? Please don't say that they don't have experience ! How do they get it ? Why did he sign off on Alcaraz ,Röhl and Dibling ? Why did he keep Armstrong ? Why doesn't he play a right back as a right back ?
You have to ask Moyes that. I only responded to your comment of losing to the "big" teams. We have now shown we can beat them. Change in mentality takes time. We'll get there. It's not always the quick fix.

We looked like we could nick that game until Beto got injured.

I used to go to derbys at Goodison and even go to pub to watch matches with mixed crowd/RS mates - madness looking back with all the gloating..but now I can't watch them
The last Derby I attended at Anfield was 2005 when we were both battling for 4th place. It was like being at a Nuremberg rally with a pretty venomous atmosphere and we got well beaten although the score was only 2-1.

I’ve been to the Goodison games but wouldn’t go near Anfield again after my last visit.

Absolute No. The first thing you must change it's the mentality. That's the real thing. If you still believe that been in the middle of the table is enough, you lose.

I stayed home thankfully. And even more thankfully I’m off work today and tomorrow. So a days of watching the snooker and avoid anything red😂. John Parrot is on presenting and putting in a brave face so fair play to him
