They didn't have to be for sweet FA.....The point is, he's spent £34 Million (plus loan fees/nominal fees of whatever) on attacking options and we have NO [Poor language removed] attacking options

28m on a striker which we have been crying out for for years, So that leaves 6m to find players for the 4 positions behind him

6m ffs, Teams above us spend treble that on one player

Do you think we tried to go forward? Did we just sit on our own half like WBA did the other week?

Is it Martinez fault moves break down due to poor first touch or players lacking quality in the final third?
Yes, and they get the ball, look up and see nobody to pass to, as all the players are still behind the ball or only 1 player in the box to aim for.

It was a strange game for me I predicted a 0-0 draw and that's how it turned out. Our fans were excellent everyone in the street end standing for 90 minutes singing their hearts out, while 2900 church mice stood there with their arms folded. I thought Martinez got it wrong he should of put Barkley and Kone far earlier, the whole of the street end were shouting for him to make a sub. We still have serious problems despite these 2 decent results. Naismith was terrible and should of been taken off far earlier, Lukaku got no service as usual, Mirallas should of stayed on as at least he's a goal threat. The best players were Stones, Jags and Besic. Aaron Lennon wasn't that good but It's too early to judge particularly as Coleman was just as bad.

I've neen watching him for 11 or 12 years since he was at Leeds!

It was the same when McGeady joined. People expecting him to sprout new abilities as soon as he signs for us!
Who would you have spent that exact same 34 million on instead that has moved clubs in the past 4 windows?

This baring in mind that you get perfect hindsight on form/injuries that is impossible in the real world.

Still trying to rebuild our shattered confidence.

Main thing is we've stopped leaking goals, next on the list is to start showing the early season attacking intent

Understand that mate, but does becoming more solid have to be to the complete detriment of our attacking play? We're barely creating a chance.

3 clean sheets in a row - Martinez deserves a credit for fixing our defence. Shame we're now looking lost in offensive transitions but building a solid team always starts from the back. We're progressing and look a lot better than month ago.

Just forget name of our opponnents and you'll see it's not the end of the world :)
