Still trying to rebuild our shattered confidence.

Main thing is we've stopped leaking goals, next on the list is to start showing the early season attacking intent

That's bound to happen when you're starting with 3 holding midfielders in front of a back 4 and then actually replace one of those holding midfielders with a 3rd centre back for the last 5 minutes....at home.....against the team in 7th....and even when you do bring on your shiney new signing, you take off Mirallas......and leave your only real plamaker on the bench til the 85th minute

28m on a striker which we have been crying out for for years, So that leaves 6m to find players for the 4 positions behind him

6m ffs, Teams above us spend treble that on one player

For years we have not been a posituion to spend £28 Million on any striker....and we still aren't....never mind one that has the first touch of a rapist!

Understand that mate, but does becoming more solid have to be to the complete detriment of our attacking play? We're barely creating a chance.
Lack of confidence means players are second guessing what there doing, taking an extra touch, players like Ross not going at players

Barkley has been utter tripe, Losing the ball all over the shop and he's offered nothing going forward

I;m not disagreeing, i said as much in my post, but he's at least an attacking threat, maybe if we're holding onto a win in Europe, I get it, but we weren't and aren't too negative, but there are positives!

Exactly - you can see the thinking behind the defensive mindset - get the confidence back by believing the opposition won't score against us.

Thought Barry looked slow today and shouldn't have stayed on. It's a shame why Martinez seems him differently but was he protecting Besic from a sending off? Barry's passing was off and his movement was sluggish

Six weeks ago teams just had to turn up to beat us. You don't go from that to playing like world beaters in one easy step.

Another clean sheet, some players showing signs of growing confidence and good young players becoming more embedded in the team. There's plenty still to do but I'm far happier with the performances since we played West Ham in the cup.

Thought Gerrard proper looked sheepish today, wasnt even going over to take the corners or ranting at the ref, kept himself to himself for the most part.

Was strange

This lad on RAWK will be getting banned for talking sense. He sums it up well.

" What was it all about today eh, two managers who like to play good football apparently but it was just slow and lethargic, no one seemed willing to take the game by the scruff of the neck and both managers did little to change the game."
