Everton v Espanyol

Was never a Koeman-fan myself...getting Southampton top 7 in the last two seasons isn't all that considering Moyes did that with us over 10 years. Otherwise he's done nothing of note in a quality league. Koeman's record in the cups is also underwhelming (bar one Spanish Cup win 8 years ago).
Get a grip mate

A destroyer would be nice. Gueye would provide the movement, so a strong powerhouse would be a great partner for a pressing game.

ideally one who can dictate the tempo from deep as well. Barry will still be key for us this year but him and Barkley need help.

It's why I've got no issue waiting out for somebody like Witsel if there's a good chance we can still land him.

already on the koeman out train after only a preseason. nice.

Yeah I said the same, once said "we might as well have got Moyes based on his record" to my mates who didn't agree

But I kept quiet mostly as I was under the impression that we where going to spend big on certain players (members on this forum, who are beginning to be found out), so took the guise that Mosh had full faith in the potential Koeman has.

All I've seen so far is a second choice keeper, a player we signed on the cheap through a release clause - and poor performances on the pitch albeit they are Friendlies.

It's kind of dampened my excitement for the Spurs game now who recently demolished an Inter Milan side, as I've said a lot I hope that I'm proven wrong.

When we didn't get any of our first choices (Emery, Jose, Löw) I was honestly happy to let Unsworth have it. Would've saved a few million in wages too.

Overall, a poor display.

We seemed to lack any guile or verve going forward and it's evident what's missing, but it will be brought in - of that I'm sure.

Has there been any update on Rom's injury?

At the back, bar a few sloppy mistakes early on (seemed to have been the case throughout pre-season) we've started to look a lot more solid defensively. Very happy with that. We even defended crosses well today.

Plenty to be positive about. Even more so should we get the two signings we could reasonably expect this week coming.

just pointing out we should be aware of the myth he was a highly-sought-after coach...dampening expectations is probably the best thing at this stage.

Southampton have sold their key players repeatedly. Getting them to where he did was an impressive achievement whichever way you look at it.

Moyes didn't get us into the top 7 for ten years. He nearly got us relegated in his second season.

The league is far more competitive now than it was even a few years ago, you're comparing apples and oranges.

just think if we play all non-league sides next season we would surely batter them all and have confidence sky high. The 3 points you get for all pre-season games are important, getting fit don't mean a thing!
