Everton Transfer Thread 2016

It is concerning that in 5 weeks we'll have already played our first game of the season, and our squad, which wasn't even good enough to finish top half last two seasons, is about 5 players down and there's no real indication that anybody will be coming in any time soon.

Benefit of the doubt ~ on paper our squad is strong, if you tgink of young players, and maybe Ron wants to look at them this week before seeing what to do with transfers ?

We've seen this many times, signing players too late and having a terrible start to the season as a result. The board should have acted quicker upon sacking Martinez, as now it looks like whoever comes in will likely get 2-3 weeks at best with the squad before being thrown in at the deep end.

Hardly ideal.

Now if we make 4 quality signings in the next week, ignore all of the above. Just cannot see it happening though, we signed Stecklenberg instead.

I'm sorry but Haller? Really? Romelu goes down in August and Haller is our leading man?
Give me a break.

Not necessarily being purchased to cover rom though mate, the kids 22, the size of a house, played in Dutch league and will be mentored by Ron and Big Dunk, two of the fiercest men in football. Next month, in August, if rom goes down, your right, he won't be up for it. But he'll be more ready then kone and niasse have ever been. For 6mil, at 22 years old, I think this is an excellent move from mosh.

I watched him a few times last season, and that big head of his could be a ripe target for Del Boy over the next few seasons if the deal happens :)

I'd rather get someone like a Bony type. Rom goes down in August and we are stuck with Haller, Kone and Niasse and say hello to the Championship.

I'm sure we wont go into the season with this situation. If so, then all this "we are loaded" talk is a myth.

I like the wackos / catgifs / funnies. I love good wumming. Its the repetitive drivel that is annoying. Like spam bots, no thought to it

Absolutely agreed mate and the nutters, funnies, and the occasional pushing the boundaries of common decency to keep the MODS on their toes interspersed with some good Everton stuff are what it’s all about for me too.

On a serious note though I have done a fair bit of study into types of social media, how they are used and by who, and it is worth every now and then just looking past what you see posted/written from that particular online persona and appreciating that there could be a pretty sad story behind what we see.

It is equally feasible that there is a complete nosher behind the keyboard and avatar - but not always!

Anyway - have we signed anyone yet!!!!!! Where’s that no mark Esk fella when we need him!!!

Last season if we lost Rom then yeah sure there's a good chance we would have gone down, but if we're well rounded enough in other areas this season I don't see it as being as much of a danger. Haller has a great goal scoring record and has a good head on him, something we've missed since Cahill. I do think we could do better as a back up striker, but I wouldn't be gutted with Haller to be honest, not like we're going to buy a goal a game striker to play second fiddle to Rom.

The way heads are falling off on here, there will be no heads left come August. Seriously, log off.....go outside....get some air.....just do something else rather than embarrass yourselves on here flapping because we haven't spent £150M yet. :coffee:

I need some relief from my

Only 1 player in midfield (that can defend)? We lacked defensive cover last season when we played with attacking fullbacks and with both Barry McCarthy and at least one back tracking winger, imagine the lack of cover in that team.
So you'd rather we play two defensive midfielders like last season in McCarthy and Barry? Absolutely pointless if you ask me.
