Everton Transfer Thread 2016

I'd agree but he did an alright job there I reckon.

As cover i agree, and depending on how we set up also, but going from a Coleman playing to Browning would fundamentally change a huge amount about how we had to play etc, Kenny is the more like for like (and logical) back up, same on the other side with Galloway and Garbutt

This question is loosely based on the transfer window. Didn't know where else to put it?

Is the influx of new GOT members / WUMs / bells typical of a regular transfer window? It just feels like I'm wasting time reading more and more pointless posts from users who have been using the forum for 24 hours etc. It's especially annoying when in work and checking for updates.

I know there is the option to ignore, but even that takes time.

I guess as the club start to rattle the cage a bit more and upset other teams supporters, this sort of thing will increase?

Forums with referral systems seem a bit snide, do you think it will come to that? Or is there a plan in place to keep the quality of forum content at a high level?

@GrandOldTeam / Mods?

Off topic, reported. We have to discuss the transfer window in this thread, not your grievances with the forum. There is a separate sub-forum for that. Didn't really report btw, in case you start crying and spit your dummy out.

Back on topic, fingers crossed we get some movement soon. Genuinely excited to see who our new number 1 goalkeeper might be. Really hoping for one of the German lads, but even Begovic would do me.

If past windows are anything to go by, there'll be a serious crack down once we hit August

It's never been this bad. It's intolerable at the moment.

Kompany is a crock and Mangala is dog turd. Demichelis is past it.

Guardiola has also played 3 at the back often so I don't see any reason why they wouldn't want Bonucci AND Stones.

I'm in my 9th year on GOT and think you have a point but the reality is that Internet Forums and any form of social media tend to reflect society in general - we will naturally have the full spectrum of whatever metric you may choose to try and measure.

I'd urge a bit of tolerance - only a bit mind.

Worth remembering that people will be on here for a whole raft of reasons (not all of them good or bad – some even very sad if we knew the detail).

We are not all blessed with the ability to finely craft Shakespearean levels of articulate prose and can often be misunderstood or that particular “edge” to your sense of humour puts you in the whacko category of others.

I think it’s just a case of strange times of optimism that Evertonians have been starved of for far too long and that some just don’t know how to deal with it yet.

So probably best to let it run without getting too bent out of shape. The MODS will no doubt weed out any real belters in time and the more routine levels of lunacy will be restored.

There's always idiots on forums and a percentage are there purely to frustrate. It's childish attention seeking. Makes the experience miserable to everyone else. There is nothing you can do about people like this with attention deficits. The only solution is to have suitable moderation, which is not the case here. I am not blaming anyone, it's not a fun job. But just as you need more traffic, more postings to generate revenue so one is loathe to remove people, the effect of a freer talking platform is to the detriment of the perceived quality of the forum and this will drive people away in the long run.

But there is an ignore function. Why don't you just use that? Why are you blaming the moderators for members whose posts you don't like? It's not their fault. Can't you just place said members on ignore and be done with them?

Click here to manage your ignored members. Put me on the list, it doesn't matter to me. See, not hard is it?
