Theres a few decent options i guess around, Dzeko (bad last season though) springs to mind as one option, another is trying to be cheeky buggers with City and get Iheanacho on a season loan as part of the Stones deal
If they want him that badly they'd probably do that too. 55m straight cash, or 45m plus Ihenacho with the option to make permanent for 15m.

Guardiola and Koeman get on together as well so could be a nice chat between them, sorted.

Be definitely a doable deal which would make sense for both clubs

24 goals last season, a pretty solid backup.
We need a quality addition mate who can take over if required should Lukaku go down.
I keep hearing we have ambitions of CL and contending for the title and a big budget.
Haller is not the striker we need.

Exactly. It's not Koeman making the errors now, they were made long ago when Martinez should have been given the boot. The board took far too long getting a new manager in. You would expect any manager to know, by July 1, exactly what he wants adding to the squad, but this can't be extended to Koeman as he's had about 5 minutes at the club.

To me it seems Koeman wasn't first choice/told us he wasn't initially interested and we looked elsewhere and waited far too long for an answer from Emery, before being rejected and turning back to Koeman.

Lesson should be don't wait weeks for answers. If a manager needs that long to decide if he wants to earn 5m a year at Everton, then he isn't the right man.

Koeman wanted to watch them in training first so timing of his appointment makes no difference.

I'm not sure a week or two's fitness training is going to convince him that Niasse is good enough to be our second striker, or that Robles should go into the season as our number 1 goalkeeper.

There are people at the club who will know what's needed and will have passed this info onto the new manager.

So with what you're saying, does that mean he'll wait for McGeady to return, do a few weeks training, then decide whether or not to get rid? I'm pretty certain he already knows he's not good enough and needs to go.

@CahillsCornerFlag I don't think we need to buy competition for Coleman

I think both Browning and Kenny have shown they can cut it at RB if required

Plus, Pennington can also play there if needs be

I don't see the point in spending a wedge on a back up RB when we already have competant lads in the youth squad who can play there and will do so for considerably less. Why put an obstacle in front of them?

If you argue that we want a more experienced head in there in case of emergencies, then we could probably get a journeyman in, but we already had one in Hibbo and he would have been on considerably less than whoever else we bring in for a pay day

I think Coleman should be our number 1 RB, with the goal being for us to find him some competition within the youth ranks, rather than buying some in

Again, you could play Browning tomorrow and I wouldn't have any worry whatsoever that he couldn't cut it in the first team. If there were more doubts about our young defenders, I'd agree with you, but I personally think we have some of the best young defenders in the entire league.

Pennington's composure during his appearances towards the end of last season was genuinely staggering. He looked like he'd be a first teamer for years

Browning has fallen off the map a bit but I did like the look of Connolly and Kenny when they came in, so agreed, sod buying a backup right back.
