Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Off topic, reported. We have to discuss the transfer window in this thread, not your grievances with the forum. There is a separate sub-forum for that. Didn't really report btw, in case you start crying and spit your dummy out.

Back on topic, fingers crossed we get some movement soon. Genuinely excited to see who our new number 1 goalkeeper might be. Really hoping for one of the German lads, but even Begovic would do me.

Reported? Wtf mate lol this isn't 2nd grade, who cares ha big dibba dobba

Would love to see some progress today, vacation starts today, 5 weeks hell yeah

I think it's pretty obvious what has happened. Koeman asked the non EU 16 players to come in early and has spent the whole week super rigorously assessing what we really have, from a neutral point of view which is something he can still do. He probably spent ridiculous hours with his team analysing all players and their data every minute so he can see what he needs. He no doubt already had an idea but had to see for himself. This, with the end of the Euros and let's not forget nearly all of those players require a 1 or 2 week holiday afterwards (most of the players went straight from end of league season to preparation for the Euros) which for most teams will end next week, or end of next week, I expect the transfers will start next week or over the weekend. If we had been after a player from a team in the semis then perhaps not for a week or two unless they sign straight after the final before hols.

There's always idiots on forums and a percentage are there purely to frustrate. It's childish attention seeking. Makes the experience miserable to everyone else. There is nothing you can do about people like this with attention deficits. The only solution is to have suitable moderation, which is not the case here. I am not blaming anyone, it's not a fun job. But just as you need more traffic, more postings to generate revenue so one is loathe to remove people, the effect of a freer talking platform is to the detriment of the perceived quality of the forum and this will drive people away in the long run.

Unfair in my opinion that fella !

Generally a thankless task that some give up a lot of time to do.

There is a whole raft of Self Moderation that you can do be either using the ignore function if there is a particular poster that you dont want to see, you can skip through the dross quite quickly once you get a feel for who chats wham/bubbles etc.....

and you simply have the option to not engage and encourage those that aren't fitting into what you want of the place.

It takes two days for a team like Spurs to do a deal while it will take two weeks for Everton to do the same. Like the Koeman deal for instance. Perhaps we are getting used to it.

Are you going to report this post too ;)
I think it benefits the forum, seems a lot of people aren't aware how to ignore members whose posts - for example mine saying I feel we need to tie up deals asap - they disapprove of. :bye:

Anyway, if you look closely there was a transfer window-relevant comment hidden slyly in my message, just like this one too. :D

I'm in my 9th year on GOT and think you have a point but the reality is that Internet Forums and any form of social media tend to reflect society in general - we will naturally have the full spectrum of whatever metric you may choose to try and measure.

I'd urge a bit of tolerance - only a bit mind.

Worth remembering that people will be on here for a whole raft of reasons (not all of them good or bad – some even very sad if we knew the detail).

We are not all blessed with the ability to finely craft Shakespearean levels of articulate prose and can often be misunderstood or that particular “edge” to your sense of humour puts you in the whacko category of others.

I think it’s just a case of strange times of optimism that Evertonians have been starved of for far too long and that some just don’t know how to deal with it yet.

So probably best to let it run without getting too bent out of shape. The MODS will no doubt weed out any real belters in time and the more routine levels of lunacy will be restored.

I like the wackos / catgifs / funnies. I love good wumming. Its the repetitive drivel that is annoying. Like spam bots, no thought to it

I'm miles off topic here. Hope we sign Begovic, Mata, Witsel. But mostly Mata
