Everton. The best team in the city of Liverpool.

7th is nowhere...absolutely nowhere. You know the club is starting to sink to the level of a Stoke or Fulham when people start crowing about consistently finishing there and looking down on Liverpool from the lofty height of one place above in a one-legged man arse kicking contest.

IMO, we have about two more years to make the Great Leap forward and become one of the set in stone 6 competitors for the CL places and domestic cups or we're lost for another generation.

1995 to 2012 with nothing won. It's an outrage for a club like this. And at this rate of *progress* we'll be clocking up 25-30 years before we get our hands on silverware.

You know the way we used to take the piss about City and Newcastle seeing their last cup parades in sepia-tinted Pathe News reels? That's us now.

How long have City waited? Do you think that matters right this second? Did they fill their modern well furnished stadium yesterday? And all that money spent on a side that scraped a penalties win against Cardiff for the least valuable cup going is hardly setting the record books on fire.

The results yesteday were worth about 1.5m to Everton. That is an enormous amount of money to a club with our cash problems.
Finishing above Liverpool is more about how badly they have done after the enormous amount of money they have spent.

Fixed.

Are you seriously suggesting we patienlty wait untill 44 years have passed before picking up another title?

Deary me. There's lack of ambition and then there's LACK OF AMBITION, I suppose.

im not waiting that long, first - its ages, second - i'll be possibly dead or senile

Erm, the joys of seeing my club lift a trophy would probably outweigh the joys of finishing 7th. I'm not certain, because it's been so long, but I'd rather be in 8th position with a trophy and European football than 7th.

I'd rather be in 7th, ahead of the rs, with no trophy, no european place and three derby losses then 9th, behind the rs, with no trophy, no european place and three debry losses.

Basically.

Once we bottled it at wembly, this was the best we could hope for.

This. We made the best of a bad situation thereafter. If people want to say it isn't good enough, plenty at the club agree. It is however, something to build from IF we have a reasonable summer. It's a positive
however slight.

Of course, any fan would want this, but my point was specifically about the trophy and European place. I'd take those even if it meant the RS were above us.
