The fact that we were 13 points behind them at the turn of the year adds a certain a comic element to it.

KING KENNY LIDS

Can we not just be happy?

We are above them ffs - not saying we had a good season or that we are going to be boss next time but we did better than them.

Enjoy the little things in life you bunch of miserable buggers

Yeah you can be happy about finishing above the RS, but remembering "certain things" isn't being miserable - just a more complete picture - can't see whats wrong in that.

Like any of us have forgot those certain things. What's wrong is that we have one thread about finishing above them and it's 90% people arguing about why we shouldn't actually care. We have about 9000 about us losing the derbies.

Fair enough beardinho.

I can see why it can pee your off mate I really can, but if we're aware of it what odds the RS just churn it out when we give it we finished 7th - ABOVE YOU! call.

It just diminishes the whole point especially if they say "other things" y'know silvery things, like

They won the Milk Cup by narrowly getting past Cardiff, while over the course of an entire season we were the superior team having spent practically no money compared to their huge cash spunk.

Quite simple really.

This is only the second time in my lifetime were we've finished above them. (Okay so third but second since I could actually speak and walk.)

Does it make up for us bottling the semi? Of course not. Does it make it a good season? Of course not. Does the fact they beat us three time and won a cup take the shine of it? Of course it does.

But it's still nice. It still gives you something to throw at the RS fans. If you can't enjoy this then you're going to be fecking miserable. We've got bugger all else to celebrate.

Basically it's like we lost our jobs three weeks ago and this week I found a fiver in a gutter, I would like to celebrate my good fortune without having people just shout me down with facts and figures about how if I still had my job I'd make that in an hour, anyway. It's true but it's also mean spirited to bring it up. I feel bad enough about losing the job already without it overshadowing everything else.

*applauds

.. and, with some decent dealings over Summer and with KK still in charge,we'll finish above them next year too

RAWK is a brilliant read at the moment lads.

I will supply

Are you serious, Kenny has to review the season. It's nothing short of a ****ing disaster of a season, we all know it, we've all got to much love for Kenny to say that just maybe he isn't the man for the job

I certainly believe we have a better squad than at least 2 if not 3 of the teams that finished above us in the PL this season.

For me, we were not mentally tough enough in the league, mainly because for a long time we have had nothing to play for.

The cups were different winning one and getting to the final of the other - beating Man U; Chelsea; City; the Bitters...

We certainly wont win the league next year but we are well capable of finishing top 4 and building from there. (BaLLOCKS)

and the 8th place prize goes to "TheGhost" with this beautiful statistical monologue of crapness

First ever wins for wigan in the PL and fulham at Anfield against liverpool

Lowest league points total (52) since 1953/54 season (37)

Lowest total league goals scored (47) since 1970/71 season (42)

Lowest number of league wins (14) since 1953/54 season (9)

Lowest number of league home wins since 1948/49 season (5)

Lowest number of league home goals scored (24) in our entire history

Lowest number of league home points total (27) since 1948/49 season (25)

Lowest league goal difference (7) since 1993/94 (4)

That's not progress.

Laugh along with those loveable reds who are we???

Seriously, this ^^^^

We've played some damn good football with Pienaar and Jelly in the side. Wembley was a disaster, but it's really the only thing that has soured me on Everton in a long time. Truth is, we could have packed it in after that, but we've been superb since.

I'm a glass half full kind of guy. Looking forward to next year.

I'm far from happy, April 14th was painful. They are in Europe and have Cup.

Sure most of us would swap.
