When you look at our strikers:

DCL
Richarlison (likely to leave)
Tosun (gone)
Kean (going)
Simms (unproven maybe loaned)
Dobbins (unproven maybe loaned)

We likely need to bring in two strikers.
You missed 'The Great Rondon' off your list. And broadhead but he is another unproven and regularly injured. (My mate at Sunderland thinks he is class and would love to keep him though).

But yes, I'd be going for one of the Championship strikers if possible, there's a couple of decent ones. Is it Diaz at Blackburn?

I doubt we're offering him to anyone pal, like i said to another poster. We need a specialist LB signed first who we'll need cover for. The only way I can see Zinko leaving is it Pep promotes one of the academy, or possibly use Ake as cover.
Some of you have correctly poined out Zinko's minor LB flaws but his vision, passing and link up play are excellent. And he never goes hiding in games.

Your last paragraph is why I could see him being of interest to us for cm mate.

Yup he can sit at city and win stuff as a bit part player, but here he could be a central part of the team likely receive a big pay increase and play his preferred position.

Could see why a move could interest him, (without going into the fluff about his teamate international being here - which honestly would have little impact on any decision I think)

We've got to rely on Thelwell making the correct decisions, but for a fairly inexperienced individual at this role I do worry that it's a gargantuan task.

In terms of the players, I have more of a glass half-full perspective: while we were terrible for large swathes, Lampard had seven out of nine wins at home.

I don't think the squad is as terrible as some may suggest (at least the XI) although there's lots of weaknesses and our depth is slim to nothing.

With a fair few high earning players and their wages off the books, we've got to sign players in the key positions of CB, CM (x a few) and an option or two up front.

The sale of one of the two, for the right price, will help fund at least two of those positions, but then we're a player down.

3-4 transfers (the right ones) could transform this team.

Say bringing in Tarkowski (free) at the back, Zinchenko for say (10-15m) for lcm Gallacher (on loan) cm.

The team instantly looks more solid, more balanced for very little investment.

This zinchenko fella has played in probably one of the best teams in the prem of all time that scored ridiculous amount of goals and he has made over 120 appearances for city and his only goal contributions have been against burton Albion and port vale

40 mil for a league 1 player

We already got fleeced with Delph.

Pass

He literally had an assist on the final day of the season for Rodri, what on earth are you going on about?

I don’t think we’ll get Zinchenko but I can’t understand why people don’t think he’s a good player. Would be great in a number of positions for us. LB DM box to box he could play them all very well (and better than anyone other midfielders in our team)

Would be a great player to shield the back 4 and keep the ball ticking over with intelligent passing. Would have him in a second if the price was right and most importantly he wanted to come and win with us. City will be keen to keep such a good player who has never let them down though. Could come down to what the player wants.

For me he's a younger fitter version of Delph (better technically, physically and more progressive with the ball).
But why we wanted Delph and what we saw him do at the end of the season would be what we'd get regularly from Zinchenko only at a better level.

Would be a great signing

Zinko in his natural position would be interesting to see and if he does leave us I'd rather he signed for you than the other teams mentioned. Thing is, he's a winner with a winning mentality who's a likeable guy with no billy big spuds type ego. I think you Evertonions would really take to him. I'm hoping he stays with us though, we'll see......

i mean i referenced port vale and burton albion for a reason because they are the only teams he has scored against

i clearly meant just goals

if he had no assists in 128 games for man city i think that would be an even more major concern

You said goal contributions though fam. He’s a left back, why would he have scored loads of goals?
