Ok i just spent 25 minutes on the phone with Direct TV. They told me this:
* Setanta will cease to operate as Setanta on Feb 28th.
* The channel formerly offered as Setanta will be called "Fox Soccer Plus", but will be identical programming/offerings.
* It will still be a separate, $15 monthly charge for this one channel
* Operator could not tell me anything about whether it is HD or not, she said she doesn't have that information
* Regular FSC channel is still on the Sports Pack, a different programming package (that's the one i have) that shows UEFA, Europa, and La Liga games along with a few EPL matches sprinkled on FSC itself. This package is still $12.99/month
* FSC Plus will not include the original FSC channel; only the "Setanta" stuff.
So basically for Direct TV customers, nothing is changing but the name of the channel. Sounds similar to Dish Network. Based on what you guys said, I'd assume the DirectTV version of the same channel will be in HD as well. I don't know if it's worth the extra $15/month for me for the one channel. More Everton games are shown on FSC than Setanta/FSC+ anyway, cumulatively..... plus FSC/Sports Pack is cheaper for me.
Honestly I just wish they'd put it all in one package for us. I'd pay $20 for said package.
