Everton 'not selling in January' says David Moyes

Correct. But still, all we here is player x who has been sold money will go towards the debt etc moyes will get a percentage to buy with but he admitted that last jan he spent the exact amount of what he sold.

I think that's a challenge to the board, either to give him the rest of the Rodwell money if there's any left, or if we do happen to sell anyone (if Fellaini has this release clause we might have no choice) it could be to make it clear he expects the lot

I'm drunk so I may be chatting utter drivel but I think we've definitely got money there for Moyes to spend and he's been told how much already, sell Heitinga and Gueye and we're in business to buy the players/loan the players that we need. Another big 5 or so months for Everton from January to May, could change our club for the future by getting CL

Interesting...

I'd love to see Felli and Baines staying at Goodison. Moyes really seemed to be a bit ironic in this interview so, we're probably selling someone and buying some players.

If Lescott is coming back, that will be great news but I do think we need a playmaker and/or a winger, cos Mirallas has been injured all the time

I agree with you, I think we have a bit of cash still from Rodwell and if we do happen to sell Heitinga (hope we don't) and other fringe players we should be able to get some bodies in. I still think without selling anyone we will bring in a couple of loans - Odjidja-Ofoe and Lescott are my guesses. Would like to see a striker come in though like Vossen/Van Wolfswinkel/Gameiro etc.

Before every transfer window moyes says we won't be getting anyone. If he said we were and then it didn't work out then everyone would go nuts. If there was no chance of us signing anyone then what would be the point of scouting players like forren?!

David Villa haha, whoever asked him the question was setting up Moyes popcorning answer.

Elstone said a couple of weeks back that we had a small budget to work with in Jan, shame the club doesn't have an owner who can fund the manager at this point, as he's within spitting distance of the Holy Grail of the CL & a couple of key signings now & he'd have a great chance of delivering it. Thanks Bill.

Without starting (yet) another Board row, Bill can't help except by selling.

I think you touch on the real issue which is whether we have found ourselves a glass ceiling. In order to get CL football consistently something has to change. Even if we get there this year we do do have the squad depth to sustain it through next season.

We seem to require a 'magic' signing every window.

We dont have much to sell, Johnny but then we would have to buy a replacement, defender for defender, which i would do like, bit who else could we sell?

What makes people think we have Rodwell cash available ??

Mirallas, Pienaar and Oviedo were not free!!

Plus Naismith (who'll have commanded a decent sized signing on fee), agents fees, PL fees etc - it's long gone in fairness.

However, it's so frustrating seeing the club currently sat on the cusp of potential greatness, with a 4th place finish a realistic possibility, but the club aren't financially capable of taking a 'punt' at this point. As our owners can't / won't fund the club with a bean. A Coates or a Lerner would / could back their manager at this point in time, as they could see the massive potential benefits looming.

This year it's even more frustrating, as we know that there's an additional £20M+ of yet unaccounted for cash, landing in the coffers in August, from the new TV deal & yet even with that, Bill & Co can't / won't short term fund the club to try & take the chance that Moyes has created for us this season.
