Everton keen on Bristol City left back

Have to ask then where did the mirror get the story from or is it one of their creations but two other teams mentioned!

The story has been on rinse and repeat down here for a while, but never more than "City players attracting interest down to cup run" sort of stuff. No clubs mentioned, just a few players, this lad and the centre half, Flint, who is pretty decent as well.

Lob in a few agents, and hey presto, Mirror run with it. The only new bit is clubs actually being named.

That said, coming so soon after we sold Bristol Liam Walsh for a pretty low fee, who knows. Maybe a link in with that deal.

Just watched his you tube ... looks like Baines used to play ... some great goals ... but no footage of him actually covering and defending ....

Thats the thing, he is currently playing on front of another left back, Magnusson. Not really as a winger, more a Peanuts type left sided player.

I would like the pair of them personally, but I have to say, I would be staggered if City sold either this season. They backed their manager after 10 defeats in a row last season, so to rip his team up now when they have a semi final on Tuesday, and a real chance of at least a play off spot, for relative peanuts, seems unlikely to me.

If we’re going head to head with Newcastle for him, we should blow them out of the water.

It wont be down to the money either would pay, well, not totally anyrate. The lad is a very intelligent bloke, has a very strong bond with the manager down to family stuff, so will go, if he goes, to the club/manager/location that suits him/his family.

Benitez and Fat Sam will likely not be the managers of Newcastle and Everton next season. Maybe he’ll choose to wait for more stability? In sayin that, could he turn down a Premier League team? One bad injury could see his career crumble.

He will go to a PL club if he's good enough for clubs to be interested. Those others factors you mention sadly are irrelevant in modern football.

Quite. Like I said earlier, I would be staggered if City sold him, unless for daft money, now.
