Everton Are A Soft Touch

Boxing training is one of the best ways to build fitness, improve balance and create discipline. Of course education is crucial but that's another arguement. Armed forces nah don't agree with them.

I imagine that professionally structured training is probably pretty good for footballers too.

To my eyes Son was visibly very distraught by what he'd done - there was a crowd of people including medics already around Gomes. What was Coleman to do, fight them off so he could say "there there" to the man in agony?

I thought Coleman's action was sensible and sporting and I was pleased to see it. These players are competitors not enemies. They all walk the thin line with injury.
Yes Son was distraught on Sunday afternoon, crying bucket loads right after the incident when Gomes broke his ankle, crying after the match, crying getting on the coach home, Spurs offered to get him councilling, people from Spurs saying he wouldn’t be able to play in Europe he was in such a bad way mentally.Maybe that was true, Spurs, through the pressshowed dozens of photo’s with Son disconsolate : Then Tuesday morning, after the red card was rescinded on Monday night, there is a nice big photo of Son, in the gym working out, with a great big smile on his face, his distress looking like it was completely cured. Idon’t think Gomes’ ankle will heal as quickly or the distress he is still in be gone as swiftly as Son’s seems to have disappeared.

It definitely does.

The media and powers that be are scared of the club's with the most vocal supporters, and make their decisions accordingly.

They play favourites and bend over backwards to their audience. More Liverpool and United fans means they will favour them more. Newcastle and West Ham are a vocal bunch of fans but nobody cares about them.

They are really are.

I don't really know what I am following these days. Every passing day i seem to find myself more alienated from a lot of our

Well firstly, people don't stay upset forever - it would be an evolutionary disadvantage to mope about. Secondly, we dont know what else happened in the interim - perhaps he spoke to Gomes and his response cheered him up.

I hope Gomes gets back o the pitch quickly, but hoping another player has lasting psychological damage isn't going to speed that on.

We are definitely a soft touch, but I think the Gomes injury and Coleman's response is not a valid example.
Let me use different players, Steve McMahon takes down Paul Bracewell which cause him to break his leg, then Kevin Ratcliffe goes to comfort Steve McMahon, to see if he is ok.

I will leave that with you

Not the best example as its a different time and there obviously would be some personal issues there.

I do think that any other game, any other players and any other teams currently you would get a similar response.

Personally I think we should just trust the players in this scenario.

If someone breaks your mate's leg would you immediately console them and make sure they're okay? No, and no one in their right mind would expect you too.

Coleman's intentions were good but he, the manager and the people higher up have massively let the club down with their reactions to this incident. It was disgrace and none of them were willing to publicly stand up for Gomes, Everton, and the supporters. So depressing.

Behave yourself, it was an accident. If Son had gone way OTT, then yeah, the reaction of the players would have been different. I can only think that you are probably aged about 15-20 and go out trying to find any excuse for a scrap. Grow up.

Great lad this Son. Broke one of our players legs and cheated to try and win a penalty. Salt of the earth.

I mean our first reaction was to go over to console an opposition player when we’d just seen his tackle lead to Gomes getting a broken ankle. The only player who showed any aggression in the situation was Lucas Digne. Just seems like a very strange initial reaction to me.

He never spoke to Gomes spurs would of had that plastered all over the media.

I'm 25 and accident or not he caused the injury by going on Gomes like that with no intention of winning the ball. That was dangerous play at the very least and dangerous play should be heavily condemned. I dont need to grow up at all, I'm not the one resorting to childish digs.
