Everton Are A Soft Touch

What are we saying here? More 'dogs of war'? Get more angry at decisions? Punch opposition players? Seamus seems to have wound a few fans up by going to see Son, strange people.

If someone breaks your mate's leg would you immediately console them and make sure they're okay? No, and no one in their right mind would expect you too.

Coleman's intentions were good but he, the manager and the people higher up have massively let the club down with their reactions to this incident. It was disgrace and none of them were willing to publicly stand up for Gomes, Everton, and the supporters. So depressing.
To my eyes Son was visibly very distraught by what he'd done - there was a crowd of people including medics already around Gomes. What was Coleman to do, fight them off so he could say "there there" to the man in agony?

I thought Coleman's action was sensible and sporting and I was pleased to see it. These players are competitors not enemies. They all walk the thin line with injury.

I think Colemans reaction was for two reasons.
One, he's been through it, or on the wrong end of it.
Two, he must know what kind of player Son is, he's not the nasty kind I'm sure most would agree.

Our board are a soft touch I think, I'll give you that.
I also think Silva need to wake up a bit more, refereees walk all over us and its partly because they know they get a free pass off him

For a point of comparison, were Evertonians as furious with Salomon Rodon when he broke McCarthy's leg? I don't remember the reaction on this forum, which leads me to suspect that people here were more willing to accept it as an awful freak accident, and that Rondon's openly tearful regret signaled his own lack of ill intent. Unlike McCarthy, Gomes got done by a purposeful snidey foul rather than a mistimed play for the ball so it's not a straight comparison.

Gah, what a mess. Good luck Andre, and please have a painless convalescence.

How do the board get disciplinary decisions reversed?

And how long are you prepared to be patient to see the difference?

How do other clubs do it? They employ competent people from board level down & don’t accept being pushed around.

I’ve no faith in seeing any improvement while Kenwright is still involved.

Give examples.

Proper examples, not stuff from the "big boys".

This being pushed around stuff is weird. What exactly are we appealing here?

Just seen a great interview from someone from Everton TV who says Everton have become soft.

Couldn’t agree more.

Summed up by Sunday’s events where our Captain is consoling an opposition player... a player who has just committed a very cynical and dangerous tackle on one of our own resulting in a very serious injury.

We have a manager who is so meek and feeble it’s a wonder he can get through a day.

We have a chairman and a board who allow the club to get walked all over time after time without saying a dicky bird. Poor refereeing and VAR decisions... getting ripped off in the transfer market...not sticking up for our own.

Enough is enough!

Grow a pair Everton!!

I think I've worked for people like you...

Some lad I vaguely knew broke both my cousins legs in a kick around on the park when I was younger. He probably went in a little harder than he should have (he was a good few years older) but 99 times out of 100 he would have just got a bruise or something.

I didn't kick the lads head in or anything, he was absolutely gutted, stuff happens.

Grrr! Shouting! Fist waving! Manly stuff! Grrr!

work ethic ,fight, aggression is not there. So he is correct in the post in that fact. I would not like to see this team in a bottom 3 fight in Feb with pressure on and the others top of the league. We will need some of that grrr then. Will it pop outta nowhere? It doesn't.

I think we all get that though and feel the same frustration.

Putting it on the board or whoever though is mad.

After the past few weeks it should automatically kick in.

Re Coleman... As one of the resident oularses herein I can recall years ago it was often the done thing for the opposition captain to go to the seriously injured player's dressing room to offer best wishes etc. I bet noone from Spurs carried this out avoiding any inference of guilt. Ever litigious times.... though I hope to stand corrected.

I have already given my opinions on Coleman,Son,Naisse etc,as I said in the Silva thread I think he should have been more vocal/annoyed at the VAR decisions and at the awful refereeing display,if it was me Id have used the opportunity to stir the club and create a siege mentality
