Everton Are A Soft Touch

So 2 “smaller” clubs fell foul of it. Player from over the park for instance committed much more blatant dives went unpunished.

I wouldn’t have blamed the club for not appealing the Son one. There’s no question he endangered another player. I’m astounded it was overturned.

Yes, the club appealed the Niasse incident. It was a joke. If that had been a Liverpool/ManU player, it would have been overturned.

So what's your solution? Be Manchester United or Liverpool?

Spurs already got Son’s Red overturned. Everton would never have appealed that.
He unquestionably endangered an opponent with a deliberately reckless challenge. I can’t believe they got that overturned.

Look back to when Oumar became the first (& I think last??) player to get banned for conning the ref into a penalty, when A) There was definite contact & B) There were several much worse examples went unpunished in the following weeks.

We’ve falling foul of poor VAR decisions for 3 weeks running.

Yes, we are a soft touch.

We appealed Jagielka's sending off and got nothing.

We are under performing because we are crap.

I agree, but that doesn't show that we're a soft touch, it shows that we're not in a position of strength. We can kick up as much of a fuss as we want, but frankly the PL - and, perhaps more importantly, the press - don't really care. If Liverpool or United or whoever do it then they do care, and things are more likely to get done.

It's like the Richarlison article by Joyce. It's a joke, we all know it's astonishing double standards. But we're not in a position to do anything about it. If we kick off and stop talking to Joyce, do you think his employers will care? They don't need to write stories about Everton to get clicks or sell papers, if they don't have any stories to write they'll just ignore us. That will do much more harm than good for the club, so the club don't rock the boat. It's not them being soft, it's them knowing that they have no bargaining power. If Liverpool fell out with them they'd care, because all their fans in Malaysia and Nigeria and wherever else will stop going on their website and go somewhere else for stories.

The only way the PL and the media will start paying attention to us is if we make ourselves relevant through success. Something which we unfortunately look further away from than ever.

100% yes. The people who run this club would rather we be liked then be successful. Being well liked by other clubs is possibly one of the worst things you can be in the game, it means you're so unthreatening that nobody cares enough to hate you. Basically we're run by born losers who would have us just be bigger versions of Charlton or Fulham.

This is why we get trampled all over. It infects the club from top to bottom. No other club would of handled the Gomes and Son situation like we did. Our captain crawling into the Spurs changing room to play hung and kiss with the bellend who broken his teammates leg all because he shed a few crocodile tears. By doing that he handed Spurs all the ammunition they needed to make Son out to be the victim in all this and have Gomes almost be an afterthought. What has the club done since it happend? We've said almost nothing and been passive little cowards as usual. We deserve to be where we're with such a pathetic attitude and lack of spine.
Tell us what you really think.

Those clubs are were they are, because they employ the right people in the board room & set their standards high.

Yes, I would like us to be more like them.

Crap board = crap results

I don’t disagree with anything you say there, but I absolutely believe we’re a soft touch. Obviously, we’re at a disadvantage compared to the top 6, but I don’t see us doing anything about it.
Even now we’ve got Moshiri’s money, it’s the same rudderless ship.

How do the board get disciplinary decisions reversed?

And how long are you prepared to be patient to see the difference?

If someone breaks your mate's leg would you immediately console them and make sure they're okay? No, and no one in their right mind would expect you too.

Coleman's intentions were good but he, the manager and the people higher up have massively let the club down with their reactions to this incident. It was disgrace and none of them were willing to publicly stand up for Gomes, Everton, and the supporters. So depressing.
