I know they were awful but it was good to have such a relaxed evening. DCL, Mangala with decent performances but Ashley Young was terrific. The goal, the cross that was asking to be converted in the first half, the cross for the disallowed goal in the 2nd and the block after the ball came back off the post (even though the ref blew for a foul).

Note; encouraging cameo from Broja. That’s how you impress when only given a few minutes.

Broja looked more than a decent option for us.

Just to clarify, we just won a game 4 nil, after not scoring for a whole month. Ashley Young scored a free kick, Mangala also scored, Dawson got an OG brace, Harrison nearly got a hattrick if he wasn't gash, Broja played, Armstrong came on.

I thought Young and Gueye were both brilliant tonight, defensively they covered so much space and consistently wanted the ball when the team were under pressure. There experience showed in allowing others to play.
