not too concerned with tough fixtures early on.

get off to a bad start, fall behind our rivals, other teams start to think we're not as great, we then go on a run, come from nowhere to catch our rivals, they're then looking over their shoulder with us having all the momentum.

look at how our momentum brought us close to 4th, but eventually lost out because arsenal had a lot of easy fixtures left as they had got the hard ones out of the way.

Seems like before March it's all about staying in contention.
Cue the more pessimistic Blues calling games "Must win or fourth is gone" in Jan / Feb.

We get pretty much every hard fixture over within the first few weeks of the season. Could be a good thing.

considering we dropped 6 points from our first 3 last season with bedding our new team is, i only see this as a positive thing. our record against the better teams wasn't the thing to worry about last season imo

Excellent point.

A lot of the top teams will drop unlikely points in the opening weeks of the season so even if we lose a couple we shouldn't be too far off the pace.

And then with a good run of. "favourable" fixtures we get some momentum going.

I'll be down the Algarve for the first derby and win, lose or draw it will be unbearable watching it in a pub full of plastic and real Kopites.
