Excellent postLets be brutally honest here.
We were made to look like a Sunday league team today.
They were quicker , more inventive and really comfortable on the ball.
They bossed possesion , won almost every loose ball and closed ranks in defence whenever we threatened.
This is a side full of younger players brought in from other leagues less than a year ago headed by an inventive progressive manager with no Prem experience whatsoever .
Moyes and this team were absolutely schooled today.
And its far from the first time this has happened.
Both sad and uplifting to read that. Reminds me of the Chelsea away game this season. I was there with my 17yo and @arch stanton . We were in a London pub before the game , full of Everton, and this group of young lads started giving it big lungs. Made quite an impression on my lad Im pleased to say. They all deserve better performances than we saw today. What an abject performance.
Our centre back pairing have been so bad recently yet he still chose to play our most composed and available best centre half at right back.
Illy was poor along with KDH.
The only shining light for me was Rohl, thought he played well for the most part yesterday.
Was in ten streets after the game and there was a group of lads, around 10 of them, aged from about 18 to 23 I would guess, every one of them singing every Everton song you could think of. Yet not one of them will have seen us win anything. These fans deserve better.
"it is not the critic who counts"
Most teams have to be fair.Sunderland just in the prem this season and they look miles better than us
Cant find any info on the usual players welcome on the western terrace?
Take it they are arriving by cars then?
First thing the Friedkins need to do is sack him; keeping him for another season would be criminal.I’m trying to work out this train wreck end to our season.
Is the team ready to compete in Europe? No, not without a substantial squad expansion. That said, you cannot pass up opportunities when they present themselves and I hoped we would have made more of a go of it.
There’s parallels with Moyes’ 2008/09/10 teams where the same group of players start every game. It’s just not sustainable now and they’re spent by the 70mins mark.
I guess last summer’s plan was to bolster the middle of the pitch and make-do with the back line.
It will be absolutely criminal if the full backs are not addressed this summer.
