You're right to an extent but they still need to enjoy what they're watching. If they stopped buying viewing rights the EPL would have very little money. Match goers provide little revenue compared to foreign TV rights and merchandise sales.
As I said i don't think they are hard to impress. If for instance you're from China, India, or Asia in general their local leagues I'd imagine have little to no level so the Premier League must be impressive to them in that context. You have to credit the Premier League for their skill in marketing the 'best" league in the world I concede that fact. They're also helped by the fact of the language being English which like Hollywood and the film industry sells well because English is seen as the main language with regards 'entertainment'

After his first stint I’m surprised anyone expected different from Moyes….he does exactly what it says on the tin. Overly cautious, incapable of in-game positive changes and forever putting round pegs in square holes.
He's very hit and miss,he made changes v Palace that changed the game so he can do it but overall is too passive. You'd wonder what his pre-match team talks are, we've long given up on the School of Science so a good old "get stuck in" would do the trick. But we don't even see that often.

Think that was as much Palace running out of gas after their European trip 48 hours earlier as much as any master stroke by Moyes.

They should have been well ahead after an hour but bringing on Alcarez certainly made a difference. A shame Moyes doesn’t rate him.

On the plus side, having the exact same frustrations with the manager that I had in 2008 makes me feel like I’m in my 20s again.
Oh Malawi. Weather is nice & beer cheap. The only problems are that DsTv isn't showing all the matches and I have to endure the Clattenburg derby again at Red Cedar. At the lake it's usually time to find the good old World Service on the air waves.

We have improved mate. There's no doubt about that. But for those of us who remember Moyes the 1st time round, it's just rinse and repeat.
I recall Moyes in his first stint very well. I have written on here several times before my thoughts on that. But at the moment, after the l;ast few seasons, rinse and repeat (though I don't totally accept that line) will do for now. Onwards...

The home games are like Groundhog day. It was like watching Everton v West Ham earlier in the season. Not great but on top 1st half, opposition make a couple of tweaks, we don't and we get completely over run where we're lucky to get a draw.

We're just nowhere near reactive to when we need to tweak how we're playing. It's less noticeable away from home as we just sit in a low block for the majority of the game and we have that little bit of quality to score from a couple of nice phases of play when we venture upfield.

At home, it's static, predictable, little thought, hopeful of a bit of magic but too few players available atm to produce it.

No surprise we've struggled even more at home than usual against Arsenal, Brentford, Wolves ( with Forest the only exception ) without Illy and KDH
In a nutshell... our squad is small

Dunno bout an easy win. Arsenal never beat them easly. Liverpool never beat them easly. Man utd never beat them at all.
They've improved over the last month or so. They're not the wolves under under pereira from earlier in the season.
Wow, I love sensible posts like that, without the vitriol against the manager, the owners, certain players... just a stand back, considered view. Ta

Doesn’t matter who is on the subs bench. Moyes doesn’t make changes when he needs to apart from the Beto/Barry masterplan.
Yes, to answer your question, it does matter who is on the bench. Are they fully fit? Do they have any experience? Can they improve on what is on the pitch?

I always thought that when TFG took over the club it was going to take a while to make improvements throughout the club. It would appear that we have now put the club on a sound business footing. We now have a few players in the squad who could play in top six clubs, we still have some who would struggle to make it into another Premier League team. That is progress, we are much better now than we were.
We are missing Braithwaite, Ndiaye , Gueye and KDH, they are four of our best players, all walk into the team on their return. Hopefully when they do we will have a competent right back and centre forward, that is potentially 6 different players. 6 players along with Pickford, Grealish, Garner, and two others makes a good team. A team that can pick up points during the second half of the season. Who would have taken a top half finish this season following the last few years. The top half is a big improvement on where we have been for a while. A top half finish will help us attract better players and possibly a better manager. We are a club in transition, we are far from the finished product but we are on our way. We will certainly have bumps along the way but we aren’t looking to the likes of the FSW or Fat Sam or Sean Dyche to save us, generally I am content with the progress provided we keep progressing long term.
Another sensible, non knee jerk, non anti everyone, non negative, post. Ta mate

Not only Moyes, as you say, does not rate him. So many on here and in the pub shouted for him to always start but, now those same voices are silent because, despite obviously skill, he has failed to live up to expectations. And they know it.
PS. I AM NOT KNOCKING HIM, I AM KNOCKING THE ARMCHAIR MANAGERS AND EXPERTS ON HERE...

Was nothing to do with my point which is correct. There were less viewers in the UK last season because people are sick of footy and what it has become.

Probably more due to the cost of living and the rise in use of dodgy sticks.

Saying that, I only watch Everton and maybe a few championship games and FA Cup games for the last few seasons. Been about 4 years since I last watched a champions league game.

I watch way more NFL though.
