Of course I didn't. I'm trying to win on the internet here!

Yeah fair enough, It will be the same principle though I'm sure (highlighted by the fact that players have been sent off for similar recently). It's not the same as accidently catching someone with an arm is it? You don't accidently pull someone's hair. He has a grab and then pulls. I don't get what he was trying to do, grab a shirt maybe?

Once VAR mentioned it there was never going to be any other outcome.

It is similar to catching someone with an arm, yes. By the laws that you just linked, violent conduct is off the ball which this wasn't. Serious foul play is the term used for reds when the ball is involved. This wouldn't be serious foul play because it requires excessive force or endangering the safety of an opponent; neither of which is the case here. If we were arguing back and forth about if this is a yellow card offense, that would probably be a vaild argument (I don't personally even think it's a yellow, but yellows can be much more subjective). But red doesn't make sense in either of the 2 common sending off scenarios.

The referee specifically said violent conduct, but that's only when not challenging for the ball. That's why this is such an egregious error: https://www.thefa.com/football-rule.../football-11-11/law-12---fouls-and-misconduct

No Keane next week means some good things, like JOB at CB and Dwight on LW. We can feature Armstrong in center and not McNeil. Patterson at RB will be fine. Not great. But okay.

Villa away next.

We had a real chance on the 1st Jan to make a statement, bring reinforcements in and really go for it this season.

By this coming Saturday afternoon I reckon all we'll have to look forward to is a battle for 9th-14th for the next 4 months
Yeah that is what really annoys me about us generally as a club macca, the failure to build,it is a golden opportunity for a club to break through the establishment this season,we,our manager and it appears management team structure and owners are not really bothered this window.

He got it for clapping the referee giving him a free. Deemed to be sarcastic.
Don't be a pedant .
It's not a desire to be pedantic. He got a stupid second yellow that was completely avoidable. It wasn't like he didn't know he was already on a yellow.

He's arguably our biggest reputation player, with a position of seniority in the squad and likely our highest paid player - outfield certainly. A 30 year old player with well over 300 senior appearances to his credit.

In the last few moments of a game where we were down to 10 men and looking for a goal to secure victory against a team who had 3 points from 20 games he couldn't get over his own ego. His desire to mock a referee took precedent over what was good for the club that pays his wages and the opportunity to put a smile on the face of fans who've shown him nothing but adulation.

Personally I like to see Everton players take a bit of responsibility and put the good of the team first when the opportunity is there to do so. This was a time when he should have been doing that.

Muddy the waters all you like about 'getting sent off for clapping' but it doesn't alter the fact that Grealish behaved idiotically and there were many worse performances on that pitch tonight than the referee.

Everything about the team, tactics & football is just so dour. The only positive is it’s slightly better than Dyche but we even had some good nights with him, Brighton 5 -1 & Liverpool 2-0.

Armstrong was probably the only positive tonight. McNeil was useless, lost posession every time he got on the ball. Tarks seems finished, goes around trying to kick and bully players, it's a sign I think. Barry invisible. Full backs, we know. We all know about how limited our squad is but I'm more concerned about the manager. He's making some strange selections. Always been a Moyes fan, but I think I want him out in the Summer.
